New Nostalgia is “power-polychord instrumental rock at its finest . . . embracing a rock aesthetic while showcasing fiery improvisations." (Downbeat) Formed in Chicago in 2017, New Nostalgia is a 9-piece instrumental band featuring a pulsing synthesis of 1980s through 2010s pop/rock and classic jazz. This band, ever innovative, lives at the happy intersection of the imaginative and the accessible. Led by composer/saxophonist Neil Carson, New Nostalgia draws upon a sizzling blend of influences, including Duke Ellington, Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Green Day, Third Eye Blind, Dawes, and Caroline Polachek. In 2019 New Nostalgia released their self-titled debut album, which featured "extreme instrumental covers" of 80s pop tunes from the likes of Tears for Fears, Peter Gabriel, and Tracy Chapman. Their 2021 EP "Frankenstein Sessions" showcases entirely original compositions, recorded remotely during the covid-19 pandemic. Through 2022 and 2023 New Nostalgia has released a steady stream of singles, including a wildly original cover of The Police's "Message in a Bottle". New Nostalgia’s tight 5-horn frontline and powerhouse rhythm section will satisfy and challenge your ears, through intricately crafted arrangements and dynamic, expressive solos. Featuring some of Chicago’s finest and most versatile musicians, New Nostalgia's rich, brassy, driving sound is a thing to behold, both live and on record.

A Rhode Island based multi-genre instrumental band, combines guitar/bass/drum shredding with Funk, Rock, Prog Jazz, Country, Western Swing, and Video game music.  They also play some off the wall reharmonizations/reimaginings of cheesy pop songs (yes Britney Spears, yes Alice In Chains & Kelly Clarkson).  A Geo Trio set features equal doses of their original work and meticulously curated covers.  Known back in RI for their fun/unpredictable and maybe life altering shows, Geo Trio is psyched to be heading to the midwest for the first time!
