Singer-Songwriter
During the lockdown, longtime friends and seasoned musicians, Tim Godwin and David Sheils began revisiting the songs of James Taylor, whose music had long shaped their own. What started as a creative outlet quickly evolved into Never Die Young— a band that delivers Taylor’s catalog with the respect, precision, and heartfelt musicianship it deserves.
Godwin has worked with such notable artists as Air Supply, Laura Brannigan, Shelby Lynne, and Tanya Tucker. He has been involved in numerous television projects along with Fox TV show “Sunday Comics” house band.
Sheils has worked with various artists, including Chicago, Toto, Mary Travers, Tower of Power, Billy Vera, Pat Benetar, and written songs for Billy Preston and Freda Payne.
Joined by the wonderful vocals of Kylea Sheils and stellar San Diego musicians, Jim Reeves on bass, Josh Weinstein on Keys, Bob Sale on drums and Larry Grano on Vox and percussion. Never Die Young will take you down that Country Road James Taylor wrote about so many years ago and into his living room with songs like the Sweet Baby James.
