Naughty Professor
Jazz Funk
Naughty Professor’s adventurous recordings, genre-bending collaborations & horn-charged, high-energy live performances have earned them an enthusiastic fan base, critical acclaim, and widespread attention from their musical peers. “Scrollin’”, the first release from their upcoming studio album Voices, presents Naughty Professor’s adept instrumentation in a warmer and more relaxed style than their usual shredding, joined by Ball’s signature milk-and-honey vocals to tell a relatable, hyper-contemporary love story. “People would be surprised to know this is one of my favorite collabs. Sonically It’s the type of record that never gets old. I love how NP (Naughty Professor) perfects their horn lines, as the sound mixes with the poetic nostalgia that brings me back to the open mics i started at. This one feels like home.” — Tarriona ’Tank‘ Ball, Grammy-nominated vocalist of Tank and the Bangas Audiences across the US, Europe, and China have enjoyed Naughty Professor’s performances, who witnessed them share the stage with artists like The Revivalists, Tank & The Bangas, Snarky Puppy, Marcus King, Chali 2na (Jurassic 5), Big Freedia, Maceo Parker, St. Paul & the Broken Bones, Galactic, Victor Wooten, George Porter Jr., Dumpstaphunk, The Soul Rebels, Isaiah Sharky, Julian Lage, Jonathan Scales, & many more. The band continues to perform, collaborate and improvise on stages around the world. Naughty Professor is: NOAH YOUNG (Bass); IAN BOWMAN (Sax); JOHN CULBRETH (Trumpet); BILL DANIEL (Guitar); SAM SHAHIN (Drums); and NICK ELLMAN (Sax).
Pocket Chocolate is a 7-piece funk, blues, and soul collective. The band members—Gabe France [lead vocals, bass] Tucker France [guitar, vocals], Connor Zaeringer [drums], Dalton Stieffel [keys, percussion], Jake Lodato [trombone], Sal Gaither [trumpet], and Garret Hickman [alto sax]—are born and raised New Orleans musicians that have established themselves as a staple in the New Orleans music scene. Since 2021, the band has played all throughout Louisiana as well as the Gulfcoast, sharing stages with Marc Broussard, The New Orleans Suspects, Billy Iuso, George Porter Jr., and John “Papa” Gros. As of May 2025, Pocket Chocolate has released 3 singles from their eventual album (summer 2025) that was recorded with, mixed, and mastered by Jake Eckert [Dirty Dozen and New Orleans Suspects].
