Established in Los Angeles in 2006, Native June pounds their Indie Rock, Grit-Pop anthems into the hearts of their listeners leaving infectious hooks and melodies buzzing around for days. Fronted by Indiana native, Gabe Watson, and French guitarist, Martial Chaput, the band delivers a magnificent electric performance nestled around retro, narrative storytelling inspired by real faces and distant places from around the globe.
Native June released their first debut album,“Whiskey and Walnuts”, in 2007 and spent the next two years playing shows exclusively on Hollywood’s Sunset Strip, and up-and-down the Southern California coast. A new milestone was crossed in the Summer of 2009, as they competed with hundreds of LA bands on the Santa Monica Pier to win the title of the Battle of the Bands. Soon after, the band signed with Planet LA Records, and a publishing deal with Rip Tide Music.
Since then, the June has rocked hundreds of audiences nationwide from LA to NY, Austin to Chicago, and abroad including regular stops at SXSW, special performances at Gibson Guitar showrooms in LA, New York and Las Vegas, and appeared on national and local television spots. The band has also shared the bill with a variety of the Industry’s most astounding artists such as the Lumineers, Imagine Dragons, Semi Precious Weapons, Ozomatli, Rachel Yamagata, Nico Vega, Mikko, Space Hog, Blackalicious, Natasha & Daniel Bedingfield, Stephen Pearcy, Metro Station, Warner Drive, Ludo, Evolove, Dig the Kid, etc.
The band produced their last album with Grammy-winning producer Tony Maserati (Jason Mraz, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Robin Thicke, etc) which included the single, “Saturday Night”. They are currently in the studio finishing their third album to be released this May 2015.
