Description
Join us for our first evening for storytelling and dinner. Artists of the spoken word will join us for a family-friendly evening. Our first night of storytelling will feature: Jim Lavender – Born in the Luxapalila Swamps of Mississippi Jim tells tales of his life: from playing with snakes to announcing Tina Turner to preaching that Love Bears All Things with real lions and tigers and bears. Gayle Turner – Co-Founder of StorytellersChannel.com has been telling stories since they were called lies. He tells bible stories, tall tales and stories from his childhood; some folks have difficulty knowing which is which. Time for Stories at The Center of the Universe Dr. Jim Lavender, Bear Creek Hollow Farm’s Storyteller Extraordinaire, joins Storytellers Channel’s Master Storyteller Gayle Turner and guests to entertain you and leave you with memories worth remembering. Dr. Jim will tell stories of his childhood growing up alongside Mississippi’s Luxapalila Swamps; stories of pet lions and bears and snakes. Gayle will scare you further with stories  of his childhood in Richmond and RVA’s own Edgar Allan Poe. Then y’all can drop your name in the hat and when we pick your name you can regale us with a 5-minute story of your choosing (appropriate for a family setting like ours). Come early and have dinner with us or pick from our delicious deserts and excellent beer and wine menu to sweeten up your 2nd Fridays.       Seating is available at 6:30 and 7:00. Show Ticket is $5.00
