Hernando González, born on May 16, 1979, in Maracaibo, Zulia State, Venezuela, is known in the entertainment world as “Nando de la Gente.”
He is a comedian, journalist, actor, and radio host who graduated from the University of Zulia in his home country, Venezuela, in 2004. He has over 20 years of experience in radio, television, theater, and as an audiovisual director and producer.
In 2009, he created and hosted the most important radio project of his career, “El Show de los Guapos,” a radio show that earned him recognition and established him as one of the most important radio hosts of the new generation.
In 2014, he entered the theater scene with several successful productions in which he wrote and performed, including “Theory Is Not the Same as Practice,” “Bambalino and Bambalina,” and a stand-up comedy show titled “Love with Trembling,” which marked his first leap into the United States.
In 2016, he relocated to Miami, Florida, but it wasn’t until January 2017 that he focused on creating his first and most important character in his comedy career, “La Codorniz,” known for popular catchphrases such as “Listen to the gentleman” and “Daddy, are you even listening to yourself?” This character gave him a significant presence on social media, establishing him as one of the most prominent Venezuelan comedians. Shortly after, in February 2017, he launched his first stand-up comedy show, “Jealous? Me?” which propelled him to stardom with a tour across the United States and around the world.
In 2018, he introduced his second character, “Balmiro,” cousin of La Codorniz, which also achieved great success.
In 2019, he released his second stand-up comedy show, “Now It’s My Turn,” featuring a much bolder concept and showcasing all of his characters in a brilliant stage production.
Since 2020, he has also been a YouTuber with his web show “Nando de la Gente on YouTube,” where important personalities from the entertainment industry have appeared as guests, sitting in his famous yellow chair.
At the end of 2020, he wrote and directed his first short film, “The Lifesaver,” which received very positive reviews.
Nando de la Gente has also positioned himself as a brand ambassador for major companies both inside and outside the United States.
His recognition has taken his stand-up comedy shows to stages in countries such as the United States, Panama, Chile, Argentina, Spain, Canada, Aruba, Peru, Ecuador, Mexico, Ireland, England, Portugal, Colombia, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, and the United Arab Emirates (including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Bahrain), among others. He has established himself as an international comedian and became the first comedian from Zulia to bring his culture, folklore, and heritage beyond his borders.
