Myrrh Larsen's second production in a series of immersive multimedia rock and performance shows invoking archetypical stories with an emotional twist, Grey Gold: A New Myth of Persephone and Hades uses the framework of this classic Greek myth in which the god of the underworld falls in love with the young goddess of life and nature to explore themes of self-actualization, control, and the difference between love and ownership through music, movement, and audience immersion. Offering audiences an immersive multimedia story framed by the more familiar trappings of a rock concert, Grey Gold: A New Myth of Persephone and Hades expands the definition of what can be experienced in a club setting. The fully immersive nature of this unique performance encourages audience members to interact with the story rather than just passively observing, affecting how we perceive the relationships in our own lives.
