The Lyricists and Composers:
THE KILBANES (Kate Kilbane and Dan Moses) are a married composing and performing team. They are the recipients of a 2026 Pipeline Arts Foundation Grant and the 2024 Jonathan Larson Grant. Their rock musical Weightless (WP Theater, A.C.T., Public Theater's Under the Radar) was nominated for Lucille Lortel (Best Musical), Drama Desk (Best Music), and Off-Broadway Alliance (Best New Musical) awards in 2023. Other works include My Antonia (Theater Latte Da, Minneapolis), A Whynot Christmas Carol (A.C.T., Pam McKinnon dir.), The Code (A.C.T.), As You Like It (San Francisco Shakespeare Festival), and Eddie the Marvelous (American Music Theater Project (AMTP), O'Neill National Music Theater Conference; Berkeley Repertory Theater's Ground Floor).
DON SEAVER has been composing and songwriting since age 16 in Texas. He has since then composed many scores and songs for a number of Bay Area theaters, mainly Marin Theatre Company, Exit Theatre, Theatre Rhinoceros, SF Shakespeare Festival, and Magic Theatre. His most frequent collaborators have been the brilliant Sean Owens, John Fisher, and William Shakespeare. don@donseaver.com
ANN LUCENA is honored to be included in Play Cafe’s “Songs from New Musicals” concert. After years performing with numerous Bay Area community theater companies, she is now writing and composing original musicals. She serves on South Bay Musical Theatre’s board of directors. She thanks her family for their support.
SEAN P. BREEN is a well-known San Francisco composer, lyricist, and playwright. In February 2026, Sean’s musical Spirals and Dirt received two wonderfully successful staged-readings at Playground’s Potrero Stage. Along with original musicals, Sean works in a wide variety of genres including choral, gospel, pop, R&B, and rock. https://sean-breen.com/
BRIAN BELDING (Creator, Lyricist, Book Writer) channeled his passion for history, theatre, and social justice into White Rose, which ran Off-Broadway (2024) and London (2025). Now available for licensing. Belding spent two decades teaching high school history in the Bay Area, shaping the content and purpose of his work. https://whiterosethemusical.com
NATALIE BRICE (Composer) amplifies stories that inspire, uplift, and call for action. In addition to White Rose, Brice created the music for Healing Mined (Off-Broadway, 2025), directed Happily Even After (CA/NYC), music directed Hell on Earth (54Below NYC), music directed Asher Child, and created the musical film Go With Me. https://whiterosethemusical.com
SUSAN RABIN, Playwright, Composer, Lyricist JIVE; MAKS & the FLYING SMIRNOVS. BS, MA Theater studies, Northwestern University. Music, City College SF. Toured, recorded with Dan Hicks & the Hot Licks. California Arts Council grant award. TBA Cash Performs grant award. JIVE performed in South Carolina October 2025 and May 2026.
PATRICK MOREHEAD, composer, Josh Jones Latin Ensemble pianist, guitarist, Oaklando band leader, expert in Peruvian composition. McAteer School for the Arts graduate. Music Education, City College of San Francisco. Jazz piano, theory, harmony with Mark Little. Jazz piano with Smith Dobson. Awarded Sonoma Philharmonic Music in Place Composing and Recording Grant.
