    Thunder & Rain

    Bluegrass

In their decade-long career, Thunder and Rain has shared the stage with Billy Strings, Krueger Brothers, Peter Rowan, AJ Lee and Blue Summit and Brothers Comatose. Thunder and Rain's song “Run With You” Was selected for the IBMA Songwriter Showcase 2023!

With her clear, angelic voice and memorable pop/country melodies, Erinn Peet Lukes leads her band Thunder and Rain. The acoustic outfit,  composed of Laura Ray on banjo and Amelia Ransom on fiddle, executes Lukes’ songs with expert bluegrass-style picking, skilled dynamics and rich three-part harmony. Their show takes the listener on a journey through the band’s story-telling lyrics and singable, get-stuck-in-you-head choruses.

Lukes didn't know anything about bluegrass or country when she wrote her first song at thirteen in her hometown of Redondo Beach, California. She pursued her love of performing original songs through major music hubs like Seattle and New York City, until she landed in Golden, CO in 2013. She began to explore bluegrass jams in the Denver area, where she would eventually meet the band’s first line up of musicians. Thunder and Rain recorded their first record in 2014, and their second in 2017. For eight years, the band toured across the US, Canada, Ireland and the UK. Their bluegrass covers of popular songs have amassed hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube.

Thunder and Rain released their third album, Passing in the Night, January 2020. The pandemic thwarted big tour plans, and put the band (and album promotion) on indefinite hiatus.

At the end of 2020 Lukes' packed her bags and moved to Nashville, TN, where she met Ransom and Ray through friends in the bluegrass community. They hit it off right away, and decided to reform the band and start again in Music City. Now the group is touring again, playing major festivals, and opening for other up-and-coming groups such as AJ Lee and Blue Summit and Rachel Sumner and Traveling Light. They are releasing an EP of brand new music in early Spring 2024.

  • Amanda McCarthy

    Amanda McCarthy

    Singer-Songwriter

Most people don't exactly plan to drop out of college, become a parent before the age of 21, and move to a new city in the middle of a pandemic - but Amanda McCarthy has always been pretty good at tackling the unexpected head on.

In a situation where most would have given up and settled for a traditional 9-5, she has gone on to make a full time living out of her music, performing on every kind of stage you can imagine - starting out with cover gigs in smokey bar corners and coffee shops, to opening for national headliners, winning awards with her original music, and playing iconic venues across the country like The Listening Room, Live Oak, 3rd and Lindsley (Nashville), The Bitter End, Mercury Lounge, Piano's (NYC), Hard Rock Cafe locations in Boston and Connecticut, and hundreds more.

Amanda credits coming face to face with Steven Tyler in a local bar and singing an Aerosmith song for him as the catalyst that convinced her it was time to move to Nashville. "I knew that if I could get through that, I have the nerve to do almost anything", she recalls. Less than a year after relocating, she'd already quit her short-term "day job" and had successfully made music her full time career in Music City.

Writing songs both for her own artistry and for other artists' projects, McCarthy was described by one of her earliest mentors as "a storyteller compelled to speak the truth" and she has held that promise true ever since. Blending the pop/rock spirit of Michelle Branch with the country-but-not-COUNTRY cadence of Kacey Musgraves, her debut full-length album "Road Trip" was released in 2019 to high acclaim. She has released four new singles since relocating to Nashville. The current single, "Normal", expresses her happiness in living an atypical life on her own terms, and she hopes to shine light on the often under-represented group of young parents pursuing the music industry.

    Music

If the coined phrase “Girls just wanna have fun” were a person, well, you’d be staring into the eyes of the country’s own up-and-comer Erin McLendon.

A brilliant combination of sweet and bold with a witty edge, her music can be described as a modern country with a twist. As a Nashville veteran, the North Carolina native loves to toe the line of genres, making sure that even though her inspiration may come from all around, her sound is uniquely her own brand of country music.
