Bill James Day (born 19 April 1988), better known by his moniker Mr. Bill, is an Australian musician, DJ and producer from New South Wales, Sydney, Australia.

Bill started writing music by age five after being introduced to Bill Haley & The Comets and receiving a keyboard from his parents. As a teenager he acquired a guitar and joined various metal bands. He credits Metallica as one of his earliest influences, and later saw parallels between metal and electronic music.

His first exposure to electronic music occurred at 18 when a friend took him to a psytrance show (known as a doof) on a beach in NSW, Australia. At the time, he thought the CDJs were playing everything live and was amazed that someone could do so much complex production on the spot. His foray into electronic music production began shortly after, when his parents bought a Macintosh computer. Starting with GarageBand, Day quickly found Ableton, which he still uses today. He received a bachelor's degree in Audio Engineering from SAE Institute, in Sydney, NSW, which helped solidify his electronic production skills. Production appealed to Bill because of the frustration of having to work around other musicians in bands, a sentiment echoed by Frank Zappa.

By 2006, Bill was opening for psytrance acts in Australia, playing house and IDM.

In 2008, Mr. Bill released his first album, Cell Abrasions, through Qwerty Records.

In 2009, he released his next two albums, Barcodes and The Ulterior Vadge Shpiel Rehearsal. That same year, he formed the duo Electrocado with fellow producer Ryanosaurus.

Through the years, Bill collaborated with many artists and released dozens of remixes and singles, as well as 10 EPs. In 2013, he released The Collaborative Endeavours, a double-album consisting of collaborations with various artists over 28 tracks. His fifth album, IRL, was released in 2014, followed nine months later by his sixth album, Settling for Mediocrity. Both were released through Section Z Records.

IRL was produced during a period of brief hiatus from live shows. Bill became disillusioned with self-management and decided to stop touring and devote his time to writing music. In response to the public statement, Muz Moeller, who manages Opiuo and Tom Cosm, offered to take up the role as manager.

In 2013, he undertook a tour of India and Canada.

In 2014, Mr. Bill and Gravitas Recordings held a remix contest for his track "Cheyah." The contest received over 200 submissions, with artist Haywyre taking first place.

Bill has taught at Dubspot and holds Ableton seminars.

He has an ongoing project, The Art of Mr. Bill, which includes both music and video. As of July 2015, there are three "seasons," and it continues to grow.

In 2017, Mr. Bill became a bitcoin investor.

The sound of a good night is in the scrapes of shoes on city streets, the wobbled extacy of leaving your problems at the bottom of a beer glass and the thwack of DJ's microphone as he speaks his first calm words before the storm begins, and the tornado of his record starts to spin. (Girls can also be DJ's, but APA media formatting suggests that when talking about no specific person, but speaking in terms of a human, a male form of the addressing of that unspecified person is used.) If there were a specific person, if there were a man who could encapsulate the sounds of a good night, the sounds of life, Michael Jack Shawn would be him.
Born out of wed lock from a Jewish gypsy, Michael Jack Shawn, at a young age, felt a strange pull to be African American; almost entirely based on his observation of how well the African American boys danced at John Muir Elementary's annual, Ice Cream Social/Parent Teacher Conference Dance Event Gathering. This spawned his desire to explore and absorb the culture of dance and the rhythms necessary to inspire it. From Dolly Parton, to Tina Turnner, from Pat Benatar to Michael Jackson: Michael Jack Shawn (MJS) studied every aspect of music and their movements. After religiously submerging himself into music for two silent decades, MJS has released yet another album encapsulating human movement and lyrical sounds.
His fan base is littered around the Bay Area and is growing at a fanatical rate. "If you don't like Michael Jack Shawn's music, then congratulations you're dead," exclaims Ryan Wilks, Writer for spellmebackwards.com. Gabriel, student at UC Berkley writes, "Everytime I see him spin my body can't help but win." Venues in the Bay Area will be blown away in the months to come. As Michael Jack Shawn unleashes his energy into the unsuspecting ears of musical patrons everywhere.
