Soaring out of the underground of New York City’s booming DIY scene, Monobloc, helmed by vocalist Timothy Waldron and Michael Silverglade on bass, is an exciting new project formed by two friends with a shared ear for merging pop sensibilities, with a distinctly metropolis post-punk attitude. Completed by Zack Pockrose on drums, and guitarists Ben Scofield and Nina Lüders, Monobloc’s strengths lie in their innate gift of storytelling; pairing texturally rich, visceral and emotional detail, with a minimalist instrumentation that sits as confidently alongside some of NYCs artistic greats, as it does in its own lane entirely. Undoubtedly a band to watch out for, Monobloc are rapidly on the rise. With a thriving live reputation across the US, 2024 sees the 5 piece come into their own with the release of singles ‘Where Is My Garden’, and the bonafide classic ‘I’m Just Trying To Love You’. A masterclass in heart-on-sleeve adolescence, ‘I’m Just Trying To Love You’ is equal parts new-age Indie, and timeless. Musically enlightened, and beautifully coming-of-age. Monobloc are the ascending sound of a generation, and we’re only just at the beginning.

New York City is known for being the center point for the merging of cultures, a hub for fashion, literature, art, and a fertile breeding ground for music of all genres. Alt-pop duo Beau, comprised of Heather Goldin and Emma Jenney, are the amalgam of all that the artistic community has to offer. From punk rock to folk, to modern pop, Beau’s reputation for creating atmospheric and catchy songs is directly influenced by their eclectic upbringing in NYC’s art scene. Their music embodies the soul of the city’s musical history pumping through each note. “New York City will forever make us feel like we can do anything, be anyone, always change at any time. It basically gave us the freedom to explore ourselves,” says Emma who met Heather when they were just pre-teens. Heather reminisces on their childhood friendship, “Life was really thrilling when Emma and I first met. We were able to find inspiration from practically anything and we had each other every step of the way. Never alone and never a dull moment. It was a very lucky time.” She continues, “We were raised by artists and eccentric/interesting characters in the heart of downtown NYC and ran around the city as kids with not much money in our pockets but massive flames in our hearts to create music and perform it. We had dreams that we didn’t think would ever go this far but we never gave up. Everything we do is still informed with that passion” Meeting at such a tender age allowed them to develop a “sister-like” relationship, with both being born into families active in New York City’s art scene. As the girls grew, and their parents explored their artistic lives as painters, that life exposed them to everything in the arts including musicians and writers solidifying their path towards artistic expression. Music quickly became their creative outlet of choice, deviating from their parents but still creating landscapes in the minds of their listeners with their songs. By age 13, the two had started a band together, taking influences from classic artists like Joni Mitchell and the Zombies. Originally "The Boos" they played gigs around NYC when a trip to France inspired a name change to Beau. Lead singer Heather sounds like Karen O, dances like Jim Morrison, and entrances like Lana Del Rey. Emma is equally captivating, she's the Keith to Heather's Mick but for a new generation. In continuing their upward rise, Beau is now in the studio recording their next project. After eight years and many important musical experiences under their belts, the duo has refined their intricate sound design, coupled with emotive songwriting and masterful musicianship. They have toured the world opening for acts including Miike Snow, Børns, and Edward Sharpe, played SXSW, and have brought their music into the fashion world when they performed at runway shows for Chloe in Paris and Rebecca Minkoff in NYC. The New York Times compared them to "a cross between Lana Del Rey and Laura Marling" and Paper Magazine exclaimed they were ".. making waves with haunting vocals and deeply emotional lyrics." They garnered attention from other tastemaker outlets as well including NME, Noisey, W Magazine, Vanity Fair, and more. Beau's ability to connect with listeners around the world is undeniable. Nearly a decade has passed since the back-to-back releases of their self-titled EP and debut album That Thing Reality in 2015, and it has been experienced as one’s 20’s usually is: quickly and overwhelmingly, with a lot learned and a lot lost. Some career highlights include touring with swedish band Miike Snow, playing overseas in Paris at the Rock en Seine music festival, collaborating with award-winning producers Nicolas Vernhes (War on Drugs) and Andrew Wyatt (A Star is Born Original Soundtrack), and performing at iconic venues such as NYC’s Bowery Ballroom and The Bitter End, Lady Gaga’s old stomping grounds. Between gigs, life was also happening. Great loves were realized, hearts were broken. Friendships intensified, others faded away. The path forward, once full of nervous expectation, became a place of bittersweet surrender. It’s from this place of introspection that Beau is calling out with a release of grief and hope. Once kids shamelessly singing over the traffic of their native Greenwich Village, indie duo Heather Goldin and Emma Jenney of Beau are growing up and telling us how on their sophomore album, Girl Cried Wolf.  With the support of newly launched Immortal Records and Music Engineer/producer Brandon Bost (mixer of Barbie: The Movie Original Soundtrack), Beau has compiled a montage of the quarter-life crisis. Slightly veering from earlier upbeat releases like “Dance With Me,” and “Animal Kingdom,” Girl Cried Wolf still has the “Beau charm,” as Jenney and Goldin like to call it. The tracks are catchy, and the words are fervent. Sonically, the album is a callback to millennial pop punk and alternative triumphs from high school days (think Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Strokes, Rilo Kiley, Fiona Apple) with a touch of dreamy synth pop (think Beach House and Cocteau Twins), tied together with some bedroom electronica (channelling Gorillaz, Animal Collective, CocoRosie). Across 8 melodically driven tracks, Beau takes us on a journey of stages, from desperate grief to ecstatic joy evoking a feeling of sunbaked nostalgia.   Girl Cried Wolf was recorded and mixed in Bost’s Brooklyn studio, Shifted. It’s no coincidence that the songs are reminiscent of an earlier era; their roots were written years before and given new life in 2024. Credit for this revival goes to Bost, who, in his search for inspiration, unearthed gems from the Beau archives and encouraged the women to revisit and breathe new life into old demos. One of those tracks turned out to be the lead single, “What Are You Doing To Me.”  Its high energy guitars and raw vocals bring the listener on a head banging heart-melting ride. “This song is about feeling completely out of control of your emotions and letting someone take you into their ecosystem whether you want to or not,” notes Beau.  This song represents the spirit of the band and of their New York indie soul.  The recording process was geared toward retaining a raw, guitar-heavy sound through the use of vintage guitars, mics and synthesizers. (Shout out to Ludwig Persik for his contributions on guitar and Bost for recording live drums.) In the lead-up to the album, Emma and Heather were both in phases of looking back and moving on and across the LP’s 8 tracks the lyrics tell a heartbreaking story of people coming and going.  Almost as a premonition of hardship and healing to come, these songs of the past perfectly illustrate the storm before today’s calm. The reflective “Messy” describes the feeling of isolation and the need for friends to help pull you out of it, reminding you that every day is worth living to the fullest. Elsewhere on the album “‘Talk To Me’ is about moments when you need to speak to someone who won’t answer” says Beau. “It’s a feeling of loneliness, but also finding hope in the midst of it all.”Ultimately, Girl Cried Wolf sends a message of reflection and endurance. The takeaways are numerous. Whatever you are feeling, you might as well feel it fully. Letting go of the past and embracing the future is rarely a single act. It is a process wherein you might falter. When you do, own it with open eyes. Love yourself anyways. Feel it anyways. When you find clarity in life before now, it becomes easier to feed the right wolf going forward. Beau recognizes the never-ending dance between light and dark and is telling you to watch the show. As in the final song “Home To”, once you recognize darkness coming toward you, you can give it a name, shrug and say, “I guess I’ll sing instead.”

Formed in 2021, Brooklyn’s Catcher have garnered a growing international fan base with their captivating and visceral live performances. The noise rock 4-piece quickly established a reputation as ‘one of NYC’s hottest guitar wielding prospects’ as mentioned in The NME 100: Essential Emerging Artists for 2022. Following the release of their debut record, The Fat Of A Broken Heart, the group were lauded as a must-see act at the 2022 SXSW music festival, with NME stating that their ‘set was a perfect encapsulation of everything that makes SXSW an experience like no other.’ The release of 2024’s 30 Million Windows only further cemented their legacy as ‘your favorite New York City band’s favorite band,’ as stated in Monster Children’s review of the record.

D’Lourdes is a queer NYC based alternative music artist with a rockstar presence and powerhouse vocals. Blending the grit and attitude of alternative rock with the heart and lyrics of a singer-songwriter, they re-define “pop” on their own terms, sonically landing at the intersection of Paramore, Alanis Morrissette, and Olivia Rodrigo. Their live shows are full out, unapologetic, and captivating. A trained actor and Broadway performer, they demand the unsuspecting audience member to listen up or miss out.  A Filipino-American, they were born in Rhode Island, raised in Missouri City, TX and now reside in Brooklyn, NY. Their self-titled debut EP unexpectedly garnered over 2 million streams within its first 3 months due to a cheeky lyric in the first track “How Did You Get So Good?” picking up as a viral sound on TikTok and has grown into a niche favorite since. In May of 2025, they released their debut album “You Get It or You Don’t”, a genre expansive alt-rock project, ranging from heart wrenching power ballads to high-octane RnB pop. They have since become an infallible presence in the NYC live scene, selling out their first headline show at Arlene’s Grocery, then playing Sultan Room, Mercury Lounge, and most recently packing out Le Bain on an electric night in February titled “Queers + Cvnts To The Front”.  D’Lourdes is for eclectic music fans, the queer community, and those who crave unbridled authenticity — the good, the bad, and the “f*ck it, let’s rally”.
