KABAKA PYRAMID
Kabaka Pyramid is a Grammy Award Winning Rastafarian lyricist fusing elements of Reggae, Hip Hop and Dancehall to create a unique sound, revolutionizing Jamaican music with conscious messages.
A key pillar of the Reggae Revival movement, Kabaka Pyramid carved his way into the Jamaican reggae scene with Rebel Music in 2011 with marquee songs like ‘Free From Chains’ and ‘Warrior’ featuring Protoje. His hip hop roots were evident in the lyrical style and hard-hitting beats, laying the foundation for an ever-ascending career highlighted by the Grammy winning album “The Kalling” produced by role model Damian Marley
The Kingston native, born Keron Salmon, spent many of his early years developing his sound as a part of Bebble Team, a talented group of friends and schoolmates that would be the foundation of his independent label Bebble Rock. ‘Rebel Music’ was the fruit of this preparation and Kabaka’s career as a reggae artist was born. After touring Europe in 2012, prominent producers would take an interest, and hit songs ‘Mi Alright’ featuring Chronixx and ‘Well Done’ produced by Damian Marley would follow in 2013 and 2014 respectively. The ‘Accurate’ mixtape by Major Lazer’s Walshy Fire would see Kabaka collaborate with Raekwon on Be Inspired, and classic ‘Kabaka vs Pyramid’ would become a staple for true Kabaka fans.
After touring with Damian Marley in the US in 2017, Kabaka would team up with the son of Bob Marley for his debut album Kontraband, debuting number 3 in the reggae Billboard chart and number one in several countries on iTunes.
His hit song “Reggae Music” became Kabaka’s first song to pass 10 million views on youtube.
During the covid pandemic Kabaka worked tirelessly and released the ‘Immaculate Mixtape’ with Federation Sound and also produced his first juggling rhythm ‘Victory Rock’ to great success. All this while working continuously with Damian Marley on his second LP The Kalling. Hit singles ‘Red Gold and Green’ featuring Damian Marley, ‘The Kalling’ featuring Stephen Marley, Protoje and Jesse Royal, and ‘Faded Away’ with Buju Banton would see the 2022 release dominate iTunes charts in many countries many countries culminating in a Grammy award for reggae album of the year amongst many other album of the year awards on publications such as Irie FM, Reggaeville and Riddim magazine.
Live performances for Rolling Stones, BBC radio 1xtra at Maida Vale and Tuff Gong Studios, and featuring on Chase and Status and Lentourloop’s albums are some of the highlights of a stellar career.

Rise Up
Reggae
Rise Up is a Reggae band hailing from various areas of the Monterey Peninsula and Bay Area, CA. Gaining a reputation for their energetic and Rootsy live performances, their sound is aptly described as “a smoky blend of roots reggae with California attitude for a style that falls closer to Bob Marley than Sublime. In other words, Genuine Reggae.” (Matt Weir, Good Times Santa Cruz)
After originally forming just to fill a spot for a local benefit show, Rise Up has gone on to release two studio EPs with renowned producer and musician EN Young (formerly of Tribal Seeds) on Roots Musician Records. Lion Roar featured the song “Rebel Souljahs” which has gone on to reach more than 70,000 plays on the popular Reggae YouTube Channel High Stereo Love, as well as making the rotation on Cali Roots Radio selected by Rebelution Lead Singer Eric Rachmany. The band later released a 5-song EP The Pursuit, which garnered overwhelming positive buzz leading to feature articles in Irie Magazine, Top Shelf Music Magazine, Top Rankin’ Music Magazine, etc. The band also released a Dub EP titled Smoke Break: Rise Up Meets Jahmadeus, and numerous singles, most recently “Once So Natural” in Dec 2024, respectively.
Rise Up has earned the opportunity to share stages in the past with some of the Jamaican Legends of Reggae music including The Wailing Souls, The Meditations, The Itals, Winston Jarrett, Half Pint, etc.; as well as modern heavyweights of the genre such as Arise Roots, Eli-Mac, The Expendables, Josh Heinrichs, etc. The band has performed at high profile venues such as Cornerstone Berkeley (Berkely, CA), The Catalyst (Santa Cruz, CA), and Moe’s Alley (Santa Cruz, CA)
Rise Up is poised to push forward and bring their unique brand of Roots Rock Reggae music to the masses in 2025 and beyond.
