Shoegaze
Mint Field
Mint Field
Shoegaze
Mexico City based band Mint Field is one of these bands that make it shine. Guided by Estrella del Sol and Sebastian Neyra. Mint Field creates a unique blend of avant dream pop and shoegaze with some touches of trip hop that explores the nostalgia and melancholy of daily life with strong guitars and voices that are like sighs. Intrumentation and atmospheres are accompanied by delicate, harmonious and ethereal voices that are fundamental part of the sound.
With releases such as their debut album Pasar de las Luces (2018), Sentimiento Mundial (2020) and their most recent album Aprender a Ser (2023) and Aprender a Ser : Extended (2024). Their sound has evolved over the course of these years of touring all over the world.
In 2020 the band started fleshing out their latest album Aprender a Ser the follow-up to 2020’s minimalist psych/shoegaze album, Sentimiento Mundial.
They wrote, recorded, produced, and mixed the album in isolation. They had time to slow things down and think more obsessively about the sound, environment, and vibe they wanted to create. Aprender a Ser became a really intimate album, every single detail was meticulously worked on. Fast forward to January 2023. During this period, the band recorded approximately twenty-five more songs and trimmed it down to ten, cohesive tracks that fit conceptually while at the same time trying to evolve their sound. During the recording process, they naturally came back to the roots of the Mint Field sound by doing a lot of layering, utilizing different types of reverb, and exploring more ethereal, ambient, dream pop, trip-hop, and shoegaze sounds. In August 2024 the band released the extended version of their album Aprender a Ser.
Mint Field has also their own curated festival in Mexico City named after their own song ‘Sueño Despierto’. The first edition being in 2023 and second one in 2024 they had the band accompanied by Mabe Fratti, Valgur, Diles que no me maten, among others.

Dream Pop
glass egg is the dream pop-ish imagination of Seattle-based songwriter and producer Emilia Glaser. Growing up in the Snoqualmie Valley just outside of Seattle, Emilia’s songwriting took shape at the convergence of the lonesome misty river valley and the PNW indie scene of the 2010s. In honest DIY form- Emilia writes songs sitting on the floor of their bedroom, records vocals in a closet, and obsesses over production and mixes from a coffee table desk. The addition of Julian Stefanzick on bass and percussion expanded glass egg's sonic realm to its current iteration. Simultaneously ubiquitous and unpinnable, glass egg’s timbre spins motifs of dream pop sweethearts such as Cocteau Twins and Chromatics, but shifts in alternative and less refined directions as if with a growing pain.
glass egg’s newest offering, visions & ecstasies (10.10.25), borrows its title from a collection of essays of the same name by modernist poet and imagist movement staple, H.D. (b.1886). Circling themes of theory in and of artistic process, ephemeral consciousnesses, and dissecting the many contexts of love- visions & ecstasies is as nebulous as it is personal.
glass egg's 2024 release "in case i forget you" was picked as one of KEXP DJ Kennady Quille's favorite releases of 2024 for the Seattle Times' Best Albums of 2024 from Washington Poll. glass egg is currently working on a full length album to be released late 2025.
