    Funk

Michael Hicks is an unique blend of talent and humility which is rarely found in today’s emerging talent. As an artist, writer, and performer, Mike is revered as one of the best in the diverse Funk and Soul music scene in Nashville and beyond. His Freshman album, This Is Life, highlights the talents of his writing ability, the moral message of his music, and the production talents of both himself and James Waddell. The album is brought to life by his incredible (18 pieces at it’s fullest) funk group, Mike Hicks and the Funk Puncs. When he’s not writing and performing his own original music, Hicks is on the road touring the world with Blues icon, Keb’ Mo. International touring has lent him years of maturity that most young artists never get to experience. This interesting blend of influences and experiences have made him “the” artist to watch in Nashville.

    Music

Many images come to mind when you hear about a kid setting up a
drum kit and a mirror in the basement of his parent’s house.
Attempting to keep time with The Meters, playing Cissy Strut, over
and over again, until he gets it right. Loving, long suffering parents
without ear plugs would be a bit of an understatement, but that’s
how Casey Wasner learned to play along with several other
instruments, while developing his ear and defining his voice. Self
taught, determined and passionate about creating music, Casey
writes and records what he feels. Clearly the true definition of a
musician surrounded by music growing up.

Done with high school and passing on a sports scholarship, Casey
moved to Nashville from Minnesota to try and find a gig playing
drums. Working construction to make ends meet, Casey searched
his soul and the neck of his guitar for the most logical path, when
one day his eyes were opened to the idea of creating his own style
of music instead of just playing other people’s songs.

Today, Casey’s unique slant on melody and arrangements within his music has earned him the respect of the same
musicians he grew up emulating. A privilege and acknowledgment Casey does not take lightly.

Part of Casey’s drive and slant on music comes from traveling the world. Working behind the stage, tuning guitars and
using his skills as a multi-instrumentalist to fine tune sound checks for the artists that he works for.. Casey’s real world
musical education has afforded him with a glimpse into the life of touring professional musicians and what it takes to
move a crowd, as well as, the types of songs that bridge the gap emotionally between artist and music lover. This sort of
real world apprenticeship has also afforded Casey with the luxury of being able to record his debut record in between
touring schedules. Armed with a creative vision and and a vigor for music upon his return from the road, Casey put the
lessons to tape and delivered ‘Casey Wasner’ his debut record, a love of words and chords.

While Casey loves being in the studio, he’s even better live where he can connect with the crowd and support the very
themes he records. Casey’s own music is heavily influenced by the sounds he grew up with, the writing is creative and
inventive and comes from lessons learned and unforgettable moments: good and bad. Songs about life with lyrics that
match the fusion of his melodic influences. You listen and feel like he’s singing about a conversation you had with him
even though the two of you have never met. A collection of songs you can identify with, that will remain in
    your own catalog of favorites.

    Scott Mulvahill

    Singer-Songwriter

As a teenager, Scott picked up the bass guitar on a whim.  Natural talent and the lure of a challenge drove him to be the best musician he could.  Continuing to play the bass, he also began to explore guitar, piano, and singing, and discovered his love for songwriting.  With the encouragement of a mentor, he studied music in college and chose to pursue a career.

Since then, he’s shared the stage with some of the greatest artists of modern music - Ricky Skaggs, Alison Krauss, Barry Gibb of the BeeGees, Bruce Hornsby, Brad Paisley, Peter Frampton, Steven Curtis Chapman, Emmylou Harris, and many more.  He’s a full time member of Ricky Skaggs’s band Kentucky Thunder, a position he’s held for three years.

Scott’s songs have received honors from the International Songwriting Competition, John Lennon Songwriting Contest, and American Songwriter Magazine’s 30th Anniversary Contest, and he has numerous cuts on other artists’ albums.

He released his first, self-titled album in 2011, and his EP Share the Sky in 2012. He’s excited to continue his evolution as a writer and musician and is currently working towards his next album.
