Official Bio .......Before Skinn Jakkitt, they were known as Modified, a cover band formed in 2009. Founding members, and high school buddies, Barry Sams (lead guitar), Jeff Hayworth (bass guitar) and drummer Jeff Price (drummer) brought in Shane Farris (rhythm guitar). They began compiling original, hard rock songs in 2010, as well as a name change. Dead Skin Jacket was drawn from a hat and shortened to Skinn Jakkitt. As a foursome, they crafted music that would ultimately become their first album. Through a series of tryouts, a singer, Paul Maxwell, was chosen. The band released their first single 'American Dream' what is known now as 'Government Greed'.
In 2012, without warning, their lead singer quits. His replacement had to be someone that would bring personality, professionalism and a good set of pipes to the table. Greg Stephens was soon introduced to the band through a chance encounter between his brother and Jeff Price. Although already in a successful rock band of his own, Greg was intrigued. After a single tryout, it was obvious that this was the singer that would help launch Skinn Jakkitt to higher levels. The band exploded! They were booking gigs, selling merchandise, headlining, playing festivals and concerts with national acts in PA, SC, TN, OK, IL, WI, GA, WV....
In 2013, TMG records offered a recording distribution deal and it was off to Oklahoma City to record their self-titled, debut CD. A music video for their first single, “Epipany”, was shot and released. Everything seemed to be falling into place when Jeff Price left the group in 2014. By no means did this quash Skinn Jakkitt’s dreams and determination. “Ninety-nine problems but the drummer is one” as said by Greg Stephens. After two stand-ins Skinn Jakkitt released 2 EP's, the latest is "Black Friday" in 2015. Now enter Isaiah Lee, bringing a new dynamic. All members are on the same page with goals, performance, and music. Writing new songs and perfecting previous ones. Adding lighting and theatrics to an already strong, powerful groove-laden set.
