Fronted by vocalist Meryl Zimmerman, the MZQ sounds like a band you’d hear in an intimate jazz club in New York City, with a little New Orleans spice thrown in the mix. The band, featuring Eric Merchant on guitar, Ed Wise on bass, Ronan Cowan on drums, and Brent Rose on tenor saxophone and flute, blends technical mastery with playful chemistry, offering jazz that’s as fun as it is impressive. Expect beloved standards reimagined with unexpected twists, lesser-known gems brought to light, and arrangements that keep both the band and the audience on their toes.
