Valerie Tosi
Comedy
Valerie Tosi is a Second City trained actor, writer, voiceover artist, and standup comedian. Before the world fell apart, she made her late night debut on Conan, and as an actor, she's appeared in a viral commercial for Lyft with Kevin Hart and Ice Cube, was featured on 'The Joel McHale Show' on Netflix, 'Based On A True Story' on Peacock, and was a guest star on 'Stan Against Evil' on IFC. You may recognize Valerie's voice from her work on scripted podcasts, animation projects, and several ad campaigns, including Google Home Mini. As a standup, she tours the US regularly, bringing her delightfully relatable stories to clubs like The Improv and The Comedy Store, and several festivals like Limestone and Laughing Skull. Between road dates, Valerie produces and hosts The Mermaid Comedy Hour, the longest-running all-female comedy show at The Hollywood Improv. She regularly features for Emmy Award-winning comedian Dana Gould and her debut comedy album "Beach Trash" debuted at #1 on the iTunes charts. When she's not slinging jokes, you can find her at her pinball league pumping quarters into the Jurassic Park table while quoting Dennis Nedry.

When she's not on stage, you can find her borderline making out with your dog.

She was a featured performer at the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal and in 2022 had the esteemed privilege of delivering the Canadian Keynote Address on Comedy. Sophie released her first album in 2019, "Lil Bit Of Buddle," which won the 2020 Juno Award for Best Comedy Album of the Year, making her the first female comic to win that award. She released the album herself so you can find it on iTunes in the genre "easy listening", which was a mistake, but it is easy to listen to, so it's OK. Her podcast "Obsessed with Sophie Buddle", which tackles people’s obsessions (from Beyoncé to American politics to checking if the door is locked to revenge) is currently available on Apple Podcasts. She is a three-time runner up (but fourth time’s the charm!) for Canada's biggest stand-up contest, SiriusXM Top Comic, and can currently be seen headlining across the country.

DeAnne Smith
Stand-up
The Loose Cannon of Comedy, DeAnne Smith, has rocketed around the world, from Montreal's Just for Laughs to the Iceland Comedy Festival. Their television credits include Last Comic Standing, and The Late Late Show in the U.S., as well as appearances on CBC, ABC, and BBC. (That’s BCs all over the place, baby!) You can find their critically-acclaimed comedy special, Gentleman Elf, on Netflix right now, as well as their appearance on Hannah Gadsby's Gender Agenda. The UK Telegraph says they’re “Smart. Very funny. Effortless charm lets them get away with murder.” DeAnne has never actually murdered anyone, but rising fascism and the callous disregard of the billionaire class for life on earth is for sure making them think about it.
