In 2001, she was the Knights of Columbus Free Throw Champion at her elementary school. In 2022, she was named one of Interrobang's "Top 35 Comics to Break Out," and in 2023, she was a finalist in KTLA's Summer of Funny. In 2025, she made her network television debut on CBS's Comics Unleashed and released her Don't Tell Comedy special "How I Lost My Teeth" and her Dry Bar Comedy special "Half Sister." Kari Assad is a Mexican-Lebanese comedian and writer based in Los Angeles. She is the co-host of the popular show Mermaid Comedy Hour at the Hollywood Improv. Her silly and relatable content has been featured on the popular comedy platform WhoHaha, and she's also been a featured performer at premium festivals like Limestone, 10,000 Laughs, and Flyover where Tig Notaro personally picked her to open.
