What is love? How do we find it? And how do we lose it—and then find it again when we have? No time is better than Valentine’s Day to discover the rules of romance, and now Tony Award–nominated vocalist Melissa Errico returns to Birdland for her fifth annual Valentine’s residency with a new show devoted to the mysteries of desire: My Romance. From February 12–14, 2027, for six performances, the matchlessly sensual and storytelling singer will celebrate the search for love in all its moods—witty, dreamy, bittersweet and timeless. Joined by a quartet led by acclaimed pianist and arranger Andy Ezrin (Chris Botti, Madeleine Peyroux), with bass, drums and the seductive swing of gypsy jazz guitar, Errico moves easily from Broadway to jazz, from intimate ballads to playful swing and bossa nova. With classic and modern standards ranging from Rodgers & Hart to Stevie Wonder and Michel Legrand, the evening will also draw from Errico’s newest recording, with songs by Jerome Kern, Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Sérgio Mendes, Joni Mitchell and Dave Frishberg—writers who have explored romance from nearly every angle: falling in love, falling out of it, longing for it, laughing at it, and perhaps falling back in again. Following acclaimed engagements in New York and at London’s legendary Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, Errico has increasingly brought her concert work to international stages—from the Grand Rex in Paris and the Montreal International Jazz Festival, where she celebrated the music of Michel Legrand, to London’s Cadogan Hall, where she performed Sondheim with the Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Ensemble. She brings that distinctive blend of Broadway storytelling and jazz sophistication to My Romance, a Valentine’s program drawn from the great American Songbook and beyond.
