Electrifying chamber-folk band MEDUSA QUARTET returns to Rochester! Wielding forgotten fiddles that could turn classical music scholars to stone, these four folk musicians are reimagining the Western string quartet. Medusa cross-pollinates music from the Celtic, Scandinavian, Middle Eastern, European, and American traditions with original music, engaging stories, and their one-of-a-kind stringed instruments to create a must-see live show. Medusa is: Georgia Hathaway (violin), Lea Kirstein (violin, viola, cello), Marta Solek (suka, plock fiddle, cello) and Saskia Tomkins (violin, viola, cello, nyckelharpa). For these four seasoned string players, whose collective experience as side players in successful bands spans decades, Medusa is a refuge for natural creation.
