Description
Meaza Joy is a rising star in the blues and soul world — a powerful singer, songwriter, model, and actress whose soulful voice has already drawn comparisons to legends like Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, Koko Taylor, and Etta James.
Mentored by acclaimed artists including Amanda Fish and Annika Chambers, the 17-year-old powerhouse is also a proud member of the Pinetop Perkins Foundation.
Meaza has lit up stages at some of the most respected venues in blues and music: the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Beale Street during the Blues Music Awards, the National Blues Museum in St. Louis, Rudy’s Jazz Room in Nashville alongside the Wooten Brothers, and as a regular national anthem performer for St. Louis City SC at CityPark Arena. She has played Blues Houses and Juke Joints from the Mississippi Delta to Chicago, Florida to California, and everywhere in between.
This spring, Meaza Joy is set to make a major impact. Her highly anticipated debut album, “Free To Be Me”, produced by Blues Music Award-winning artist Annika Chambers and Paul Deslauriers, will be released in late May 2026. Recorded in Houston at Sound Arts Studio, the album features BMA-winning guitarist Paul Deslauriers and Grammy and BMA-winning musician/producer Tony Braunagal.
The album has already caught the attention of major labels, with an official signing announcement scheduled for late June.
