Retro Revival
Mama Said
Mama Said
Retro Revival
Since their sold-out March 2022 Blue Note show, Mama Said has been playing stages across the Bay Area, including their debut performance at BottleRock Napa Valley, and headlining Balanced Breakfeast’s BreakFEST 2022 Mini Music Festival in San Francisco.
Two-time winner of the Bohemian’s Best Local Band people’s choice award, Mama Said has been compared to Fleetwood Mac and Heart among others. The band will be performing their debut LP Change In The Weather alongside their interpretations of some rock classics. Founding members Latifa Reeves, Jennifer Knight, and Derek Bromley co-wrote the album with producer Jim McGorman (Goo Goo Dolls, Gwen Stefani, Marc Broussard.) Change In The Weather captures the band’s distinctly retro sound inspired by classic rock of the late 70's/early 80's, and the classic rock revival of the early 90's. The songs feature addictive vocal melodies and beautifully textured guitar hooks, but the band’s intention is also clear—to make an album about growth, change and coming together. Mama Said is power and attitude with an almost timeless sound. This is the New Classic Rock.
Bassist Nik Blankenship and drummer Darren Schauer round out the band’s live lineup, and deliver the goods.

Soul
Adesha
Adesha
Soul
Powerful, sultry, dynamic, and moving are just a few words people have used to describe Adesha’s voice.
Oakland, California native, Adesha made her solo debut singing for hundreds of people at The War Memorial Opera House in San Francisco at the tender age of six. By age ten she had starred and co-starred in musicals, she sang a jingle for a commercial, and had performed solo at a few of San Francisco’s live music venues. At age 13 Adesha joined a girl group called “Under 21”. The trio spent most of their high school career performing and in the recording studio. At age 16 Adesha embarked upon a spiritual journey that would change the course of her future, ultimately leading to her solo career with the goal of making music that changes lives.
Adesha has performed at a long list of venues from San Francisco to LA. She has been the opening act for Ledisi, Goapele, Gospel diva Kim Burrell, Kase, Anthony David, Carl Thomas, Jazmine Sullivan and more. Adesha has released a full length album entitled “Giving Love a Try”, a re-mix E.P. of the "Giving Love A Try" album, 2 additional E.P.s entitled "Feeling You" and "Things 2 Consider", and a single entitled "Just Groove", all of which are available on iTunes, Amazon Music, and Spotify. A review from I Am Entertainment Magazine said this about her, “Adesha is a great singer and songwriter. After checking out her release, Giving Love a Try, I was reminded of how awesome music can be when those creating it are talented and creative.”
Adesha is excited to make her Napa debut, and perform her latest single “Hot Mess,” available now on all streaming platforms.
Release Description
Adesha and Vincent Kwok present their latest release, featuring a pair of songs taking inspiration from the glittering dance floors of the disco era to Minneapolis inspired funk. "Hot Mess" kicks off the proceedings and is a full on disco workout combining the vocals of Adesha with a pumping 4-on-the-floor beat that is bound to move you. "Girl Fan" takes a different approach with a rhythm that is reminiscent of the Minneapolis sound of the early 80s. Featuring a sizzling sax solo, "Girl Fan" describes the various stages of fandom, with some punchy beats accentuating the song.
Adesha and Vincent
Born in San Francisco, and raised in Oakland, Adesha has been singing all her life. From starring in plays and musicals since the age of 4, all through high school, to majoring in theater, the stage has been Adesha's home. Having shared the stage with Case, Jazmine Sullivan, Carl Thomas, Anthony David, and singing lead female vocals on a Billboard-charted song, Adesha is making her presence felt as a Retro-Funk, Champagne-Soul Disco Diva!
Raised in Perth, Australia and breaking through as a top house music/electronica producer and DJ in San Francisco, Vincent Kwok is truly a musical citizen of the world. Learning from his experience in playing with various bands and DJing, he believes that the key to success is the ability to write memorable melodies in addition to creating explosive beats.Adesha and Vincent came together through a mutual friend and have been working together as a team for several years. Fusing Adesha's soulful vocals and lyrics with Vincent's years of producing house tunes, the combination of both talents creates an unstoppable force of talent, with a string of releases that explore the styles of the 80s, from sexy to funky, the pair are able to create in a variety of styles, keeping things musical and catchy, all the while keeping the groove going.
Hot Mess
A full on dance workout propelled by a 4-on-the-floor beat and a pumping bassline inspired by the disco greats of the 70s, Hot Mess wrily comments on the state of society that we are living in today. What with new variants, lockdowns, inflation, social unrest, sometimes, the only solution is to get out and dance. Featuring a backing section that is reminiscent of the great vocal harmonies of the disco era, accompanied with a blistering synth solo, Hot Mess is bound to get your butt off that couch and dance, whether it’s on the dance floor or on the streets.
