The Desert Nudes
The Desert Nudes
Alternative Country
New Orleans’ own Desert Nudes consist of vocal and guitar superstar J. P. Carmody, bassist and vocalist Dave Pomerleau (Johnny Sketch & the Dirty Notes), and musical savant Andre Bohren (classical pianist, drummer for Johnny Sketch, Rory Danger, and others). The Nudes bring impeccable vocal harmonies and sly humor to cowboy songs, classic country, and roots rock.
They began singing cowboy songs while together during the pandemic, in the Western desert, in a space where attire may have been optional. After positive audience feedback and packed venues, the trio released Keep A-Movin’, Dan: Songs of Hydration, Vigor, Horses, and Wide Open Spaces, with awe-inspiring vocal harmonies on classics like “Tumbling Tumbleweeds” and “Cool Water.”
We cannot wait to share their magic with you as the opening act of the 2026 Fest-o-Matic series at Chickie Wah Wah. They will kick off our festival with a beautiful set of songs starting at 7:30pm on Wednesday, April 22nd. See you there!

Jimmy Robinson has been recording and touring for over 40 years. He has received critical and audience praise for his unique virtuoso approach to the guitar, and his rich compositional skill.
Jimmy learned to play guitar in garage bands, later formed the fusion/prog group Woodenhead, studied classical guitar and composition at Loyola University in New Orleans and The Eastman School Of Music in New York. He combined these elements with his electric experience to forge the solo acoustic style that he now tours with. He has three solo albums to his credit, Vibrating Strings, Guitarworks and Three.
