Formed in 2015, The 3148s began as a group of lawyers unwinding after depositions, playing cover songs in each other’s basements. That quickly evolved into writing and performing original music, driven by a shared love of loud, unfiltered rock. Their sound is best described as Americana run through an alt-rock meat grinder—a rust-belt blend of alternative, blues, and rock n’ roll. The band has built a growing audience through radio play and streaming platforms, while becoming a fixture on the Detroit music scene known for high-energy live performances, including appearances during SXSW. Fresh off recent recording sessions at Rust Belt Studios, with an upcoming album dropping this summer, The 3148s continue to push forward with new music and momentum. They are also the driving force behind LAWlapalooza, which has raised over $50,000 for local charities to date—with plans to raise even more in the years ahead.
