Nation are a New York-based musical duo consisting of Fresh Jame and Funball. The duo was formed in 2019 with their first Single release "Circle". In 2020, Nation released their debut self-titled album Nation (Deluxe). Despite only starting to release music under the alias of Nation in 2019, Fresh Jame has been making music in his spare time since at least 2016, as stated in this early interview with i-D.

In the same year, Ecco2k met Nation while on tour with Yves Tumor, whose studio they were using at the time. Through Ecco2k, Nation were introduced to Emilio Fagone in 2022 leading to an ongoing association between the artist and YEAR0001.

In March 2023, a remastered version of Nation's first album was released via YEAR0001 featuring additional tracks.
