Lovewhip is a dance band that jams, and people love it. Playing a party-starting mix of psychedelic rock, dance-pop, and world music, the energy and presence of Lovewhip’s live shows is infectious, sexy, fun and over-the-top. The Jamaica Plain, MA based group whip up infectious original songs for those who love shaking their booty on the dancefloor. “Lovewhip may be our answer to Prince, except it's a funky, electro-jam with a female guitar-slinging mastermind!” says Cheap Thrills Boston. Combining the best of world and reggae dance rhythms with 80's synth, the band's sound is topped off by singer/guitarist Empress Erin's soaring psychedelic rock guitar, creating an “irresistible party soundtrack” that fans love! Think Talking Heads, Gwen Stefani and LCD Soundsystem all rolled into one.

Lovewhip has released four critically acclaimed studio albums (Whip It Baby!, Bouncehall, Virtual Booty Machine, and Love Electric) and one live album (Live Booty Pop). Their latest album, Love Electric, is a futuristic dance party complete with unicorns, icebots, intrigue, and rock'n'roll! Each song on the album is chock full of catchy hooks, mixing dancehall reggae with disco, pop and rock. The album was produced by Jake Zavracky (producer/composer, of the bands Cyanide Valentine and Quick Fix), and recorded in Boston and Brooklyn. “It all comes together like a Kraftwerk cover band hanging out with Fischerspooner on a DEVO appreciation night at the hottest dance club in town.” Building on influences as diverse as Blondie, Beck, LCD Soundsystem, the B52’s and the Cars, Lovewhip has created a sound that people go crazy for.

The project of frontwoman/guitarist/singer Erin Harpe and bassist Jim Countryman, Lovewhip has been making eclectic dance music since their first release Whip It, Baby! in 2000. Lovewhip’s multicultural influences have ranged from Jamaican reggae and dancehall to Nigerian soukous and highlife, afrobeat, and more recently retro 80’s electro. “The overall concept has always been to lift people out of their daily drudgery and get them dancing and feeling good,” says Harpe. And that’s just what they’ve done, touring regularly around the country to great reactions and dancing crowds.

    Americana

“Erin Harpe is one of the most dynamic, talented and exciting roots rocking blues women on the scene and it’s time she gets noticed, as she has it all — a golden voice and the guitar chops that dazzle. As many of the great divas of the roots rocking blues are aging, the emerging new generation, like Imelda May, Grace Potter and Erin Harpe are firing up younger audiences, and Erin Harpe makes it as fun and exciting as ever, and that’s a good thing for the blues.”
    –Living Blues Magazine

Charismatic singer and guitarist Erin Harpe, along with her band the Delta Swingers, have become favorites around New England, with a growing fan base around the world. Their unique brand of dance music is rooted in vintage 1930's Mississippi delta blues, then shaken and stirred with other genres like soul, funk, and reggae, evoking a wild southern juke joint where the whiskey and gin are flowing and everybody's dancing!

Erin Harpe & the Delta Swingers features Erin on vocals and lead guitar, backed by Jim Countryman on bass, Matt Charles on harmonica and Kendall Divoll on drums. Their critically acclaimed debut album Love Whip Blues (VizzTone) has been very well received, getting 4 stars in DownBeat Magazine, and airplay around the world including SeriusXM’s Bluesville!

Their debut album, “LOVE WHIP BLUES” is a refreshing, rootsy take on the blues, with songs about trains, hard luck and good luck, and of course (in the vein of Harpe’s other band, Lovewhip) shakin’ your booty. Ten swinging tracks include four originals, Harpe’s take on songs by 1930’s blues artists, and a very unorthodox version of the classic John Prine song, “Angel From Montgomery”, famously recorded by Bonnie Raitt. Produced by Dave Gross (Candye Kane, Chris O’Leary, Albert Castiglia, Gina Sicilia) at Fat Rabbit Studios, the album shows off the band’s signature Charles River Delta Blues – their own country blues/roots/americana cocktail – including an appearance by guest star guitarist Bob Margolin (Muddy Waters band).

  • Chris Hersch & The Moonraiders

    Chris Hersch & The Moonraiders

    Rock & Roll

The MoonRaiders are a Western Swing band that combine elements of Jazz, Rock n' Roll, Country, and Truck Driving music.
They easily move between the styles, improvising and singing their way through an eclectic set that will please both the dancer and the music aficionado.
The MoonRaiders draw on a unique repertoire often overlooked in the American Songbook, bringing these styles back to life again in a new way.
They also perform original music based on these great traditions.
Their style is Honky Tonk Trucker Jazz and they are sure to tear it up wherever they Raid next!!!
