Love Muffin Records was started in 1994 by Cleveland musician Adam Rich. He had recorded a 4 song demo in his basement in 1992, and wanted to release a full length cassette. Love Muffin was a name given to him on his high school soccer team, and he thought it would be a great name for the label.

Adam took advantage of the old Cleveland Music Group barcode program. He created a logo, became a legal business, and had 100 copies of his cassette Virgin Freak made, which he took to college in 1994. Another cassette followed in 1997, and the first CD was released in 2001. 4 more would follow.

In 2007, Adam put on his first concert at the Hi-Fi (now the Foundry) in Lakewood. 2008 saw the first LoveMuffinPalooza concert which was inspired by the old Undercurrents showcases. The label would put on several themed concerts yearly for the next several years.

In 2011, one of Adam's cousins passed away from cancer. He decided to add a raffle to LoveMuffinPalooza and find a cancer non-profit organization to donate the raffle money to. He found The Gathering Place in 2012. and got local businesses to donate prizes. As the number of prizes grew each year, the bands started to donate their pay. In 2018, the event officially became a fundraiser for The Gathering Place. To date, it has raised over $17,000 and peaked at 150 raffle prizes in one year.

in addition to releasing his own music, Love Muffin released a DVD of State Of Green, which Adam played bass for in college. Love Muffin also released CD's by some now defunct bands including Skychief, The Darker Shore and Tilt 360.

So now, the little label that started with a 4-track Tascam Portastudio in Adam's basement turns 30. Come celebrate with us!

The lineup includes bands and old friends that have played on past concerts as well as some new talent.
