Logan Richardson
Jazz Blues
Born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri—a city deeply rooted in jazz heritage—Logan Richardson is a distinguished alto saxophonist, composer, and producer known for his genre-defying approach to Black American Music. He began performing professionally at 16, later studying at Berklee College of Music in Boston and The New School in New York City. Throughout his career, Richardson has collaborated with an array of visionary artists, including Pat Metheny, Jason Moran, and Nasheet Waits. Logan Richardson’s visionary project — blues PEOPLE — merges blues, rock, soul, and modern jazz into a sound that reflects the rich complexity of Black American culture. Inspired by Amiri Baraka’s seminal work, "blues PEOPLE: Negro Music in White America," the band channels the evolution of Black music—from its roots in struggle to its boundless creative expressions today.
