Born and raised in a cradle of jazz – Kansas City, Missouri – Logan Richardson was mentored by some of the music’s true greats including Jay McShann and Claude “Fiddler” Williams; Max Roach, Shirley Scott, Jimmy Heath, and Clark Terry were among the artists in residence during his high school years. Since the age of 21, Richardson has performed and recorded with such jazz notables as Joe Chambers, Butch Morris, Stefon Harris, Ambrose Akinmusire, and Billy Hart; in 2006, he released Cerebral Flow, his debut album as a leader. Logan Richardson’s 2016 Blue Note label debut, Shift, featured an all–star cast including Pat Metheny on guitar; Jason Moran on piano, and drummer Nasheet Waits.
