Soda Canyon has performed at Napa’s most venerated Venues: Blue Note Napa; the di Rosa Center for Contemporary Art’s Summer Music Series; Feast it Forward; Porchfest Napa; Eppich Art’s Art Walk Napa Valley; Napa Mustard Celebration; The Inaugural “OxFest Music Festival”, throughout the Oxbow; we were Headliners at the City of Napa’s first new “Fridays in the Park”, summer music series at Veteran’s Park; and Headlined the very special event, the “Gala Evening at the Ruins”, in American Canyon.
At every one of these performances, they drew a large audience, and received enthusiastic audience response to their music.
Soda Canyon begins with Singer Songwriter David Kearney-Brown’s large catalog of rich and eclectic original songs, all with infectious rhythms. Melodic Leads and enchanting strumming guitar work are intuitively intertwined as only a duo of long-time creating brothers can do, by David and James Brown.
Soda Canyon’s music is underpinned by the deep pocket, enriching solos, and beautiful runs by bassist James Mattox’s stunning bass work. David Hight on drums creates just the right rhythmic backdrop to the entire range of David Kearney-Brown’s eclectic music; along with percussionist John Hannaford’s capturing and weaving of the rich warm textures of the rhythmic guitar’s strumming, that brings the songs to life.
All the music and vocals are then overlaid by the amazing and expressive lyrical tones of saxophonist Keith Blocher, David Brown’s Trombone, and Piano.
The sum of their parts, is Soda Canyon
