Description
Leon Cotter - songs from and inspired by Africa Saxophonist Leon Cotter has led a musical double life, spending much of the last decade touring the country with soul/blues band The California Honeydrops, while maintaining a reputation as a sought after sideman in Portland’s local jazz scene. This February, Leon returns to the Jack London fresh from recording an album of original songs all influenced by music from the African diaspora. He’ll be joined by Jack Radsliff on guitar, Garrett Baxter on bass, Cyrus Nabipoor on trumpet, and Noah Mortola on drums, playing a mixture of original music from the album, and covers from artists like Abdullah Ibrahim and Dudu Pukwana.
