Lateral Move
Sketch
Pull up your seat and get ready to move your minds! Lateral Move bursts forth with hilarious takes on modern society. We showcase topical subjects with sketches that contain broader ideas people face in our time and veer into the absurd and silly because we just love comedy. Our show draws on the strengths of our diverse cast, providing distinctive viewpoints created from unique voices. From political satire to zany character pieces, this show proves to be more than a lateral move.
We’re interested in the friction between the polished surface and the unstable core. Our work exists in that tension: between sincerity and satire, structure and chaos, the deeply personal and the aggressively public. In our sketches, characters unravel while smiling; institutions collapse under the weight of their own logic. Nothing is safe, but everything is seen.
