Description
Some 25 years ago, The New York Times described Larry Goldings, Peter Bernstein, and Bill Stewart as “the best organ trio of the last decade.” Thankfully for the jazz scene and its fans, the trio has not only stayed together but consistently charted new ground over the course of nine albums and two DVDs. With his signature Hammond organ style and keyboard versatility, Larry Goldings has worked extensively with Michael Brecker, Jim Hall, Maceo Parker, Pat Metheny and James Taylor. In 2007, Goldings, Jack DeJohnette and John Scofield (as Trio Beyond) received a GRAMMY Award nomination for Saudades in the category of Best Jazz Instrumental Album (Individual or Group). Guitarist Peter Bernstein has been an integral part of the jazz scene since 1989, appearing on over 100 recordings as a sideman and leader. He has been sought after out by generations of musicians, from Bobby Hutcherson and Sonny Rollins to Brad Mehldau and Diana Krall. Bill Stewart made his name as the rhythm engine behind guitarist John Scofield (1990–1995) and is now among the jazz world’s most sought–after drummers. He’s toured extensively with Michael Brecker, Lee Konitz, Pat Metheny, Joshua Redman, and Maceo Parker.
