When Lamont Landers steps up to the microphone, he doesn’t just perform — he commands the room. With a voice that feels both timeless and unmistakably his own, the Alabama native channels the spirit of classic soul, the fire of Southern rock ’n’ roll, and the emotional honesty of rhythm and blues into something entirely fresh. A powerhouse vocalist, expressive guitarist, and deeply personal songwriter, Landers has built a devoted following by doing things the only way he knows how — with authenticity, patience, and undeniable talent. “I let the music speak for itself,” Lamont says. “There are so many elements that reflect who I am. I’m from the South, so there’s naturally some of that in there. I love soul music. I love guitar. It’s all part of me.” Born and raised in Decatur, Alabama — a town where “everybody knows everybody” — music surrounded Lamont from the beginning. Riding in the backseat of his dad’s Chevrolet S-10 Blazer, he absorbed the sounds of the Allman Brothers Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Stevie Ray Vaughan. At home, his mother filled the house with the voices of Al Green, Sly & The Family Stone, Ray Charles, and Marvin Gaye, planting the seeds for the soulful foundation that would later define his sound. During a difficult period following his parents’ divorce, music became more than entertainment — it became an outlet. “I had all of this anxiety and angst, so I picked up the guitar,” he recalls. At first, Lamont saw himself as a guitarist. It wasn’t until his early twenties, when his college band suddenly found itself without a lead singer, that he reluctantly stepped to the microphone. What started as necessity revealed the instrument that would change his life: his voice. After graduation, Lamont’s breakthrough came with a viral performance of Ray Charles’ “Hit The Road Jack,” earning hundreds of thousands of views overnight and introducing audiences around the world to his raw, soulful delivery. That momentum continued with appearances on America’s Got Talent and Showtime at the Apollo, while his online performances helped him build a passionate fanbase of more than one million followers across social platforms. But the moment that changed everything came when Questlove shared Lamont’s cover of The Spinners’ “Rubberband Man.” The performance eventually found its way to GRAMMY® Award-winning producer Dave Cobb, known for his work with Chris Stapleton, Brandi Carlile, Jason Isbell, and Sturgill Simpson. Cobb heard what Lamont’s fans already knew: a rare voice that didn’t need to be manufactured. He invited Landers to record at his Savannah, Georgia studio — a creative partnership that ultimately led to Lamont signing with Cobb’s Lucille Records, in partnership with MCA Nashville. “We worked fast,” Lamont says. “Dave has this gift for pulling out raw, authentic emotion — and that’s exactly what he did.” The result is a collection of songs that capture every side of Lamont Landers: the soul singer, the guitar player, the storyteller, and the man behind the microphone. Following the release of his 2025 introductory EP — featuring fan favorites “America,” and “Lotta Love,” — Lamont enters a defining new chapter in 2026. On July 31, 2026, he releases “Lonely Girl,” the first official single from his forthcoming debut album on Lucille/MCA Nashville, arriving in early 2027. The project represents the fullest expression yet of Lamont’s artistry — songs rooted in love, struggle, family, resilience, and the search for something real in a complicated world.
