Many may know L.Young from his many viral videos on Youtube and Facebook, including the #1 pop trending ABC's Good Morning America feature of his a cappella rendition of the 2015 Bruno Mars hit Uptown Funk. But L. Young has also released four full length studio albums to date, 2004's “'They Just Don't Know”, 2008's “The 12th Letter”, 2013's “ReVerb”, and "4Ever Young" in November of 2015. The title track "Love Is A Verb" from the album Reverb garnered L. Young his first radio hit and top #20 Billboard magazine Urban A/C chart hit. L also released "Wrinkles in Time" in 2018 which saw 3 singles go to #1 on the UK Soul Charts.

​    Born and raised in Louisville, KY, L. now resides in Los Angeles. L. has graced the stage with such artists as Stevie Wonder, Seal, David Foster, BabyFace, Eric Benet, Aaron Neville, Lalah Hathaway, Toni Tony Tone', Mint Condition, En Vogue, Patti LaBelle, Toni Braxton, Gladys Knight, Keith Sweat, and Teena Marie just to name a few.

​    Some of his song writing and production credits include co-writing the top 5 single and title track off Jessy J's #1 Billboard debut Album Hot Sauce released in Sept. 2011, writing and production on KeKe Wyatt's 2010 release Who Knew, and her 2011 release Unbelievable, production of Babygirl (Terrys Theme) for B2K on the RIAA certified platinum selling 2002 Barbershop Soundtrack. L. also has songs on the platinum selling soundtracks Booty Call , Dangerous Grounds, The Long Kiss Goodnight, and Dough Boys.

​    You will also find L credited for music in many network tv shows such as BET's Real Husbands of Hollywood, ABC's According To Jim, 20/20, One Life To Live, VH1's Basketball Wives, and USA Network's Burn Notice.     The American dream came true for Catalina Popescu in October of 1986 when she and her husband Bob created a supper club devoted to serving an experience of superb eats and the shared magic of live performance. That grand experience began at the door where every night her mother Maria would greet each guest as family and share in their love of music. Housed in Hollywood and decked out in a timeless charm, the club offers a cozy ambience under sparkling stage lights garnished with its signature concoction — Jazz. The first artist to grace the stage was the masterful flutist and saxophonist Buddy Collette, and ever since then, over the past 36 years, the Catalina Jazz Club has hosted the most illustrious legends of all time — from the powerful puffers of Dizzy Gillespie to the electrified fingers of McCoy Tyner, the bubbly belt of Dee Dee Bridgewater and Lynda Carter, the flirtatious saxophone of Joshua Redman, the slick strumming of Kenny Burrell, the insane drum clinic of Steve Gadd, the romance of Steve Tyrell, and the masterclass of Mike Stern.

    For Catalina, Jazz is our way of life. It breathes pain. It knows love. It dreams hope. It bleeds courage. Whether we’re showcasing Broadway, Soul, R&B, or stand-up comedy, the lesson learned from all the greats who have serenaded our spirits is how to connect to one another. And that’s why the Catalina Jazz Club will always have a table ready for you.

    The Catalina Jazz Club has been honored by A.S.M.A.C., California Jazz Foundation, Los Angeles Jazz Society, and a City of Los Angeles Certificate of Appreciation on their 25th Anniversary, which was awarded by Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and the LA City Council which included then City Council member and current Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti.
