Kylie Morgan describes herself as fun-loving, spontaneous, sensitive, and intentional. And as the exuberant, ethereal Oklahoma native approaches the release of her second EP, P.S., two more words join the list of descriptors–grown up.

Kylie released her debut EP, Love, Kylie, one year ago. Between her first EP and her second, the singer has more than doubled her social reach and surpassed 100 MILLION worldwide streams. She also got engaged and felt like she finally knew who she was.

"I was still writing my own story on the first EP," she says. "Now, I can truly sit here and say, 'I am so happy in my life.' I feel like all my boxes are checked. I have my foundation and can truly be the person I was always meant to be for myself, my family, my friends, and my fans.

"Kylie co-wrote each of the seven songs on P.S.,a continuation of her first EP. Each track is a chapter ofher story. She wanted to close the book on her early years before she moved on to a different project. The songs–whichinclude the anthemic "Independent With You," "If He Wanted to He Would," a lessonabout how to know if a guy is interested, and "Mean Girls," a vulnerable missive about growth from pain–are messages to her younger self.

She balanced her articulate, coming-of-age revelations with intelligent, fun up-tempo bangers she knowswill be crowd favorites in her live shows.

"I wanted this EP to feel like a movie. When you watch a movie, you experience all these different emotions," Kylie says of P.S. "For me, my favorite movies are the ones where I cry at the end, especially happy tears."

Kylie has been working toward this moment for more than 20 years. She fell in love with Shirley Temple when she was 4 years old and was drawn to entertaining from an early age. A few years later, Shania Twain's Up! album made her want to sing country music. She started writing songs when she was 10 years old, and two years later, her papaw gave her an acoustic guitar for Christmas. When she was in the 8th grade, she wrote a song inspired by watching the sister of one of her friends battle cancer. Kylie was invited to sing the song "My Miracle" at local Relay for Life events, where she sold CDs of the song and donated the proceeds to the American Cancer Society.

"That was the first time I saw what my music could do," she explained. "It wasn't just, 'I want to sing and dance,' anymore. It's like, 'No, I want to help change the world.'"

At 15 years old, Kylie made her first songwriting trip to Nashville. She had never co-written songs but sat down with songwriting heavyweights Walker Hayes, Rob Crosby and Liz Hengber. She moved to Music City about four years later, and her creative chemistry with Walker led to her management and publishing deals. Walker remains one of her most trusted collaborators. They wrote and performed her viral smash "Cuss A Little" on Love, Kylie, and when he told her the genesis for P.S.track "Country Anyway," she was amused–then invited herself to the writing session. Kylie calls it her "Nashville" song. She and Walker co-wrote it with one of their most dedicated fans, Elaina Jones. Elaina and her boyfriend moved to Nashville, so Elaina could write songs–then they broke up. He didn't move away, and Elaina felt like he had taken over her town. Kylie could relate. When she moved to Music City at 19 years old, her boyfriend followed her here, only to later break up.

"Elaina is like, 'You literally stole my city from me,'" Kylie said. "You don't even like country anyway. Why are you here? Leave."

The EP begins with "Independent With You," a song in which Kylie wonders if she can be in a relationship with someone without losing herself. The song serves as the foundation of the EP, and itsf ollow-up, "If He Wanted To He Would," is what she wishes she had known as a teenager trying to figure out if a guy was romantically interested in her.

It's one of those things where it's brutally honest," Kylie says. "I just wish I would've written it when I was that age to shake myself out of it. I wanted it to feel like an upbeat anthem but also in-your-face honesty. I thought the world needed to hear it because I needed to hear it."

"Love Like We're Drunk," and "Gucci" are two spirited songs that Kylie is excited to add to her set. When fans come to see her in concert, she wants them to feel like they're on vacation and forget theworld. The lively, up-tempos are a guaranteed way to lighten the mood. She says "Gucci" reminds people to shake off their troubles while touching on confidence. "Love Like We're Drunk" was inspired by a night out at a Nashville bar.

"I'm the queen of waking up the next morning and having six different messages from people saying, 'It's so great meeting you,'" Kylie says. "And I'm like, 'I guess I made a lot of new friends.' I just wish it couldbe like that all the time. I wish people didn't have to be a little liquored up to be so friendly."

In a tender moment, Kylie's younger sister joined her in the studio to sing "Mean Girls," a song that recalls the teasing Kylie was subjected to growing up and how she got stronger because of it.

"My sister was also in this state where girls at school were being so mean to her," Kylie says."She jus tlike went from having all these friends to having zero friends, and she just felt it. Her singing on this song made it even more special."
