    Other Family

Michael W. Perry is one of the most recognized and respected names in the Hawai‘i Broadcast industry. Perry received his B.S. in Psychology from Michigan State University in 1969. He then served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy Pacific Submarine Force. In 1972 he made Hawai`i his home.  He spent 11 years as Hawai‘i’s number one Afternoon Radio Personality before teaming up with Larry Price for the popular Perry and Price Morning Show.

From 1980 to 2008, Mike was the Executive Producer and Host of the award-winning Hawaiian Moving Company, which highlighted the talents and accomplishments of Hawai‘i residents here in the Islands, and around the world. The Hawaiian Moving Company was Hawai‘i’s longest-running TV program and one of America’s highest rated local TV shows.

Perry does numerous local, national, and international TV and Radio commercials, and has appeared in several national television shows including Hawaii 5-0, Jake and the Fatman, Unsolved Mysteries, Blood and Orchids.  He has appeared in movies, as well, including Molokai: The Father Damien Story, and Princess Ka`iulani.

He devotes much of his time to public service, particularly to support the efforts of the REHAB Hospital of the Pacific (where he is Chairman of the Board of the REHAB Foundation), the Takitani Foundation, the Sony Open, Friends of Hawaii Charities, and Castle Medical Center.

He is married, has three children and nine grandchildren, and lives in Kailua.

Sweetie Pacarro, producer of the KSSK Saturday Morning Show started her career in broadcasting as an intern for KHON2 TV and has been with KSSK since 1990. She also served as the Kraft Foods Hawaii spokesperson in TV and radio commercials for over 20 years.

Sweetie is active with the KSSK Coach of the Week program honoring ILH/OIA coaches. She presents the awards at assemblies across the island.

Her busy schedule includes participation in a wide variety of community efforts such as the annual Hawaii Foodbank Drive, the Children’s Miracle Network Radiothon, and the Susan G. Komen “Race for the Cure.”  A daughter and wife of U.S. Veterans, Sweetie is proud to serve on the Board of Advisors for U.S. VETS. She also coordinates the iHeartMEDIA “Show Your Stripes” program in Hawai`i, pairing businesses with Veterans seeking employment. She is a member of the Saint Louis School Board of Trustees and the Ma`ema`e Elementary School Foundation.

Sweetie received a BA in Communications from Chaminade University in Honolulu, has three children and two grandchildren.

    Karen Keawehawai‘i
If it’s possible for someone to be humble and proud at the same time, Karen Keawehawai‘i is that person.  Whether seated in the garage that doubles as her rehearsal room surrounded by drying laundry, or on stage at a Waikiki Hotel spilling out homespun humor, the Hawai`i-born entertainer boasts a commanding, almost stately presence. Karen Keawehawai‘i is a mother of four, grandma, a proud Hawaiian and, just-by-the-way, an exceptionally talented entertainer.

Karen began singing with The Kaleos during her senior year at Farrington High School, then joined The Laughing Kahunas her freshman year at the University of Hawai`i.
She was a featured performer in the famed Al Harrington Show at the Hilton Dome for years, and her career has flourished ever since.

Over the years, she has become an integral part of the KSSK Saturday Morning Show, also sharing her talents as a soloist with The Royal Hawaiian Band. In 2018, she was inducted into the Hawaiian Music Hall of Fame. Karen is married, lives in Honolulu, and loves taking care of her six grandkids.
