King Whisker, The Volclays, BRUE, Pinkeye

  • King Whisker

    King Whisker

    Rock

DIY Art Rock weirdos King Whisker make Boom Boom from their beachfront compound in San Diego. Cursed by bee-burglars, the Mighty Whiskerinos play "Black Betty" by Ram Jam nonstop for 45-60 minute sets throughout Southern California. You can often find them being launched out of "The PetCo Party Cannon" into Mission Bay.

Their single, Television, released in December of 2020 quickly garnered substantial radio play and earned them recognition as 91X San Diego's Artist of the Month, and a San Diego Music Awards nomination.

Underground music Blog Alt77 hailed the track as a breakthrough for the band, saying "Television is the grunge anthem that Vedder and Cobain may have been a tad too depressed to get writing. The song and the accompanying music video show King Whisker for what they are, an ambitious group of smart-asses.”

King Whisker's debut EP "There is no King Whisker", released in May of 2019 pays homage to some of KW's core influences, including Pixies, The Police, Queens of the Stone Age, The Clash, Led Zeppelin, Talking Heads, Frank Zappa, Sparks, and Warren Zevon.

Their debut album, Relaxing with Aunt Janine, drops October 29
  • The Volclays

    The Volclays

    Surf Rock

The Volclays (Formerly known as Dark Seas, and The Ghost Dance), are a group of high school buddies from San Diego, CA who have collaborated on several projects over the years. Kyle Wilcox (vocals), Dan Wilcox (guitar), Matt Jones (guitar & keys), Graham Boblit (drums), and Jack Patterson (bass), round out the family-like quintet.

Dynamic, wet, and kinda spooky: The Volclays have garnered die-hard support by throwing parties at their studio called, "Studio 33", playing house parties, and tireless bar work. The local scene that they have created and led has become a self-contained ecosystem that is truly unique.

Goth sensibilities drive a roots-inspired rhythm section that's laced with southwestern surf guitar and complimented by sweet sad vocals. These lads are a throwback into the future, blending sounds that can be described as Psych Surf, or Goth Pop. The Volclays deliver energetic performances that you'd be bummed to miss. They have helped support artists such as The Growlers, The Black Lips, Dead Meadow, Chelsea Wolfe, The Coathangers, SadGirl, Thee Commons, Tropa Magica, Travesura, Allah-Las, The Entrance Band, Adult Books, The Relationship, White Mystery and many more.

Their debut EP, "All Night" came out January 1st, 2020 and was produced by Scott Montoya (The Growlers, Soft Palms), at COMA Studios in Long Beach, CA. The Sophomore EP "Love Songs for Lovers" came out on Valentines Day 2020, and their third EP, "Hope You're Miserable Too" came out in March of 2020

  • BRUE

    BRUE

    New Wave

BRUE is a three piece new-age rock group bringing you head banging tunes out of Ogden, Utah. Sammy Brue has given us a taste of his grungey musings before: songs like ‘Covered In Blood’ off of his debut record, or ‘Teenage Mayhem’ from his latest record “Crash Test Kid.” But a new era has come into fruition, and this frontman/guitarist has found a new tune: electrifying guitar solos, wailing vocals, and an attitude you’ll need to see to believe. This newfound energy combined with Landon Gwynn’s hard hitting, fast paced punk grooves, and Kip Congo’s earth rumbling bass guitar playing - is an undeniable sound.
  • Pinkeye

    Pinkeye

    Music

Pinkeye is a genre bending band of weirdos with a loud mouthed front woman and too many instruments. Comprised of a cast of characters as diverse as its influences, Pinkeye delivers a slap in the face of a show with powerful, dynamic songs and content that will make you feel uncomfortable, connected, and full of life.
