Psychedelic
Moon Palace
Moon Palace
Psychedelic
Moon Palace is a Seattle indie rock band led by identical twin sisters Cat and Carrie Biell. The twins began writing songs together as teenagers, cultivating a musical bond made particularly significant as children of two Deaf parents. Joined by Jude Miqueli and Gabriel Molinaro, the Biells write hook-driven, nature-inspired psychedelia with dreamy guitar discord and unique sibling harmonies.
Atop gently crashing drum rolls and dreamy guitar discord, sisters Cat and Carrie Biell harmonize in a tone that’s both heavenly and haunting, while Darcey Zoller’s omnipresent cello hum creeps in like a black cloud illuminated by silent electrical flickers. But even as the drumbeat tightens up into a tense thrust and a kick of the distortion pedal summons the storm, Moon Palace navigate these choppy waters with poise and grace, the song’s mesmerizing melody guiding them to safe passage like a lighthouse’s beam. -KEXP Song of the Day: Moon Palace – Shapeshifter

Moon Palace, “Canyon”
Arriving just in time for blanket season, Seattle supergroup Moon Palace’s eponymous debut evokes a twilit dream world, windswept-clean of angst and ugliness. Even in its dual-harmony, cello-smoothed serenity, a wild ember smolders within this album-closing micro-epic. Cuddle up, folks. http://www.cityartsonline.com/articles/attractive-singles-october-2017
