Saxophonist Kenney Polson has studied music for many years, and is today an extraordinary player, educator, and composer of smooth jazz. Polson's CD Paradise was released to the world by the Prodigee Record label on May 23, 2016. It debuted at number fifty-five on iTunes for top new jazz recordings.
bioimageThroughout his career Polson has performed with famous musicians such as Bettye Swan, Z.Z. Hill, Joe Williams, D.J. Rodgers, Gil Scott-Heron, Fred Wesley, Lee Garrett, Michael Henderson, Norman Connors, and many others. He has taken his music on tour to Japan, Korea, Hawaii, Colombia, Brazil, and over a dozen Caribbean Islands. Polson has performed on television shows with internationally famous jazz artists Kenny Burwell, Jimmy Heath, Phil Woods, David Sanborn, and Wynton Marsalis. Some of Brazil's most famous jazz musician's have recorded with Polson, and many can be heard on Paradise. Currently, Polson can also be seen performing with Rick James' Original Stone City Band.
Only thirteen years old when he began to develop as an accomplished saxophonist/composer, Polson has earned an Associate of Arts Degree in music, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in music education, a Masters of Music degree in jazz composition/arranging, and an Education Specialist degree. He has taught music in public schools, private schools, College and Universities. He has given clinics, lectures, and performances in over fifty countries.
