Boston based group The New Review bring a raw and powerful energy to their focused style of old-school funk & soul music, with a modern originality. Arrangements by group leader and guitarist Jesse Baskin are intuitive, catchy, and accessible. Powerhouse lead vocalist Aubrey Haddard, rounded as a velvety vocal trio with Sally Rose and keyboardist Pat Carr, ignites any stage in fits of vocal fury and pure-form energy. Heavy-hitting rhythm section Ben Atkind and Van Daalhuyzen showcase an endless and effortless groove on drums and bass respectively, while trumpeter Matt Hull and saxophonist Sebastian Molner easily snap in and out of line with punchy melodies and free form jazz expressionism. With nods to Sharon Jones, vintage Aretha, and the Philadelphia-era David Bowie, The New Review start a party anywhere they play, horns raised, mic's and amps blazing.
