Kabul Dreams, the first Afghan rock band, established itself in 2008 in Kabul, Afghanistan. The band consists of Sulyman Qardash (lead singer and guitarist), Raby Adib (drummer) and Siddique Ahmad (bassist). Kabul Dreams has paved the way for a modest but growing rock scene in the country, which is rebuilding itself after decades of war. The band’s motivation to perform came from their own love for music, but also from a public hunger for a new life after war – a life that included new music and art. Kabul Dreams released its first full length album in April, 2013, drawing inspiration from bands like the Sex Pistols, Nirvana and Oasis, among others. The album, “Plastic Words,” was mixed by Grammy winning producer Alan Sanderson, and recorded in Afghanistan. In 2013, Kabul Dreams moved to the United States, where they are currently based in Oakland, California. The band recently finished recording its second album, which was recorded in both Oakland and San Diego. On January 20, 2017, Kabul Dreams released "Brain Drain," the first single from their new album "MEGALOMANIACS". The band release their new album on FEBRUARY 18, 2017. Stealing The Sun blends high-octane riffs, groovy bass lines and progressive percussion with dynamic, piercing vocals to create a unique alternative sound. Founding members Sameer Khan and Ross Learn met on the UC Santa Cruz campus and discovered a common interest in music, leading to the creation of an acoustic duo with a hard rock sound. In 2015 they transitioned to an electric sound, eventually adding Tome Tavares on bass and Pete William on drums — and Stealing The Sun was born.
