Mason Jar Music is based out of a renovated early 20th-century house in Kensington, Brooklyn. In addition to housing many core members of our team, the headquarters contains a large, well-equipped recording studio and film editing facility.

At MJM, we work hard to achieve organic production through constant collaboration. Each of the members of the our team, most of whom live together in our Brooklyn-based residential studio, are multi-talented creative professionals who specialize in a diversity of styles from jazz and classical to folk and soul. We can take on almost any type of project in a variety of fields: record production, engineering, film scoring, original music for film and TV, music videos, and live concert recording/filming. We believe in assembling a roomful of talented individuals and working together to create and capture a singular musical moment.

Though sales of recorded music are down, people are consuming more content than ever before. Large commercial studios are a dying breed, and a new paradigm must replace them. Technology has made it easier and more affordable for the average consumer to produce and distribute his or her own music, and to some that means the death of the producer, the engineer, and the art of recording. We disagree. To us it means that the power structure has changed; the control is in the hands of the content creators. Now, more than ever people need trained professionals, with distinct style and a passion for creating all types of music in any format, to bring their projects to fruition.
