Jazz Recording Artist & Award-winning singer, JONATHAN KARRANT, celebrates musical legends Antonio Carlos Jobim, Sergio Mendes and Burt Bacharach in "WATERS OF MARCH" at Catalina Jazz Club, Hollywood.
LIVE - Sun, April 14th at 7:30pm. Dinner begins at 6:00pm.
Considered one of the great exponents of Brazilian music, Jobim internationalized bossa nova and, with the help of important American artists, merged it with jazz in the 1960’s to create a new sound. Mendes was deeply influenced by Jobim and created many beloved arrangements of popular songs of the 1960's. During the same time, Bacharach was one of America's leading composers, often incorporating jazz and latin rhymes in his songwriting.
Jonathan and his all-star band will pay tribute to these recording icons with exciting musical arrangements that highlight such songs as; Girl from Ipanema, Mas Que Nada, This Guy's in Love with You and more.
