Jonathan Karrant - The Johnny Mercer Songbook   Singer Jonathan Karrant salutes the music of legendary lyricist Johnny Mercer. Mercer's compositions made a significant impact on the Great American Songbook, including songs like "Autumn Leaves", "Moon River", "Skylark" "Summer Wind" and so many more. Mercer was a top writer for Capital Records in the 1950's and 60's and collaborated with several iconic composers such as Henry Mancini, Johnny Mandael and Herold Arlen just to name a few. His songwriting was considered to be very prolific and provocative, creating word images through his lyrics, triggering thoughts and emotions. With a repertoire that spans classic jazz standards and contemporary interpretations, Karrant brings a modern elegance to the timeless genre of jazz. Karrant, who has recorded several of Mercer’s songs, will perform many of Mercer’s most popular hits on September 12, 2026.
