We think most of you know by now how much Jon Cleary means to us at Chickie Wah Wah, not to mention the entire the city of New Orleans.  He is a dedicated student as well as a master of the genre of New Orleans funk and R&B.  Though we are lucky enough to have him play our club frequently, he only rarely plays with the Absolute Monster Gentlemen, but on Thursday May 1st at 8pm, they will be throwing down the funk for Jon’s only appearance at Chickie for our 2025 Fest-o-Matic series.  Tickets are almost all sold out already, but some reserved tables are still available right now.  Come see masters at work!

    Jon Cleary & The Absolute Monster Gentlemen is a Grammy-winning New Orleans funk/R&B band led by British-born pianist, singer, and songwriter Jon Cleary, known for his deep-groove piano, multi-instrumental skills, and connection to New Orleans legends like Allen Toussaint, blending traditional NOLA sounds with modern funk for a "sophisticated, nasty, good-time" sound.
