When the J. Geils Band disbanded in 1985, the lead singer and frontman Peter Wolf, formed his own band and Johnny A. became his musical director and lead guitarist for seven years. He was also the lead guitarist and toured with the British Rock Band "The Yardbirds" (2015-2018). The Yardbirds were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992. Johnny A. followed in the footsteps of three guitar gods who played in this band before him, Eric Clapton (1963-1965), Jeff Beck (1965-1966), and Jimmy Page (1966). Johnny A. is such a master guitarist that three guitar companies, Gibson, Fender and Epiphone, all produce a Custom Shop "Johnny A Signature Guitars" that sell for thousands.
