Happy Hour at Snug Harbor Jazz Bistro featuring John Rankin Join us for Happy Hour as New Orleans’ own solo guitarist and singer John Rankin brings his warm, genre-spanning style to Snug Harbor. Ranked by critics as a hybrid of Leo Kottke and Chet Atkins, Rankin blends jazz, classical, folk, blues, and the Great American Songbook into each performance. A longtime fixture on the New Orleans scene and a Jazz Fest regular since 1981, he is also an acclaimed teacher (Loyola, Tulane, UNO, Xavier) and two-time Big Easy Award winner for Best Folk Music.  Expect an intimate, soulful set of delicate fingerstyle guitar, thoughtful vocals, storytelling, and moments that bridge tradition and surprise — perfect for lowering the lights and lifting your spirits.
