Jim Brown & Karen Waldrup with Ava Paige

  • Jim Brown

    Country

Jim felt the surge of energy on stage when he was only two years old as he sat behind the drums in his uncle's rock and roll band. Music became a part of his life from that moment on. He got both his first guitar and his first motorcycle when he was three years old...and began on a journey that has led him to where he is today.

Jim’s first memory of singing to an audience was getting up on stage at the age of nineteen at the famous Nashville Palace. Thinking back to that night, he remembers being nervous and excited at the same time but just telling himself to do the best he could and to just keep on going. When asked about performing and being on stage Jim remembers a quote that was told to him by Barbara Mandrell who had first heard it from Minnie Pearl.  “If you get up there on stage and love them they will love you right back.”  And from that day forward that is what Jim has done at each of his shows. Jim says, “I walk beside my fans and give back as much as I can.”

While growing up Jim listened to good old Rock n’ Roll including Led Zeppelin, ZZ Top, Billy Joel, Kiss, Foreigner, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Beatles, James Taylor, Ted Nugent and Peter Frampton along with the country sounds of Johnny Cash, Keith Whitley and Waylon Jennings. These early influences combined with todays music of Blake Shelton and Montgomery Gentry have molded the man and the music that you see and hear today.

As there are two sides to every story so there are two sides to Jim Brown and his music. At a show by the Jim Brown Band you can expect to hear a range of music in style and emotion from a tender sentimental love song, “Don’t Close Your Eyes” by Keith Whitley or smokin’ country-rockers like “The South’s Gonna Do It Again” by the Charlie Daniels Band. The Jim Brown Band plays for corporate events, festivals and fundraisers and one by one this high energy show is winning over audiences while giving back to those in need. In Jim’s words, “The stage is my shower and my mirror.”

Before Jim picked up a pen to write his first song his biggest influence was Jerry Chesnut who made an impact on Jim in the way he could tell a story you could relate to with his lyrics. Jim knows how music touches the heart and writes songs that tell stories about everyday situations in our day to day lives.

Jim’s life was forever changed while he was working in Memphis.  He had the opportunity to read story books to the kids at St. Jude Children’s Hospital.  In his own words he says, “To see what these kids go through and that they can still keep a smile on their face is truly inspiring.”  This is one reason why at Jim’s events you will usually see him giving back to a charity or someone in need. When asked about what is really important to him he shares, “I am a single father and want to always provide and be there for my son. Just spending time together, picking him up from school and being there for him is the most important thing in my life.”

Jim reflects on his career as a business owner and his journey through the music business and shares what he has learned.  “You can’t please everyone, and you can’t change the way others feel about you - so be yourself.  If you want something and you think it is within your reach there is nothing that will hold you back. God is in control and he will open the doors when your wants become other peoples needs and it is then that you will truly be blessed.

  • Ava Paige

    Nashville Sound

For several years now, even the most experienced songwriters in Nashville have been both astonished and thankful they were put in a room with country music artist Ava Paige.  Paige is simply not your average up-and-coming young hopeful.  She is an entire world apart.

Writing songs since she was small and taking guitar lessons since 7 years old, she is decidedly unique from other teenagers.  Her idols have always been the creators of songs, and she has never wavered in her desire to be one of them.  An innate understanding of lifetimes past with her naturally young perspective has proven beneficial in her delivery of any song.  This skill is especially reflected in her writing, which is why she continues to work with some of the industry’s best, including Marla Cannon-Goodman ( “The Fool” /Lee Ann Womack), Kendell Marvel (“Either Way /Chris Stapleton), Terri Jo Box (“God Bless the Boy”/Cody Johnson), Tony Lane (Little Past Little Rock/ Lee Ann Womack) Tina Parol (“Champagne Night”/Lady A) and Artists such as Drake White, Craig Campbell, and Charles Esten.

With her music career traveling in the fast lane, Paige was delivered a blow just before her 15th birthday. She was diagnosed with leukemia. Gigs and songwriting were put on hold and replaced with chemotherapy treatments. Ava is excited to announce she finished all treatments for leukemia on Dec 13th 2021 and is Cancer Free! Paige is determined to pay it forward by forming her own charity, Pick’n and Kick’n Cancer With Ava Paige. She’s also involved with a number of other similar charities including Rally Foundation, Leukemia Lymphoma Society, and is even Children’s Miracle Network’s 2022 National Ambassador. With the help of these charities, Page helped raise over 10 million dollars for childhood cancer research and children’s Hospitals.
