Jessie Thoreson & The Crown Fire is an upbeat folk-rock band whose propulsive melodic energy is grounded by upright bass and drums and buoyed by acoustic guitar, and vocal harmonies. This music is inspired by lyrical stylings of the folk legends Joni Mitchell and John Prine but draws from the grit and complexity of artists including Fiona Apple, Madison Cunningham, and Lake Street Dive.

Ellie Barber a.k.a. Ollella’s career as a musician started early, when she sang before she could talk. Trained as a classical cellist since the age of nine, the Seattle indie-folk musician merges her technical string background with authoritative vocals and live-looping. Described as “really outstanding” by NPR Music’s Bob Boilen and “so tastefully done” by Michelle Zauner (Japanese Breakfast), Ollella's sound is organic with a side of edge, pulling on influences such as Feist, Cat Power, and Sylvan Esso. She is a two-time finalist in the NPR Tiny Desk Contest (2024, 2022), has had music featured in film and TV, and is a frequent collaborator with others. She finds herself drawn to music because it unlocks a particularly organic flavor of humanity – one that fits the type of world she believes in.

From WASHMAG on Lightweight Champion’s debut EP, “Valley” -
“Lightweight Champion exact alt-country with an air of orderliness...The melodies are simple but compelling, the rhythm section is tight, and Gabriel Delayne’s versatile piano keys makes for a formidable secret weapon […] Lyrics pair surreal, circuitous metaphorical imagery with plainspoken wills and wishes, the type of writing that’s become a staple of alt-country.” Members are Aaron Spieldenner, Gabriel Delayne, Cam Hancock (of The Whags, Coral Grief) and Tom Moskal (of Coach Phillips, High Romantics)
